Job Description

Digital Communications Officer

Transparency International UK (TI-UK) is looking for a Digital Communications Officer to join our Communications team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is an opportunity to produce and publish the digital content that carries our anti-corruption research and advocacy to the audiences that matter. You will create content across our website, social media and email channels, produce video and graphics, and deliver the digital side of our campaigns and publication launches.

You will work with colleagues across our UK Programme, Business Integrity, Global Health and Defence & Security teams, turning complex policy work into content that informs and engages.

This is a blended working role, combining remote working with attendance at our London office, meetings and events as required. Some UK travel and occasional evening events may be required.

The Digital Communications Officer will report to the Senior UK Media and Communications Manager.

What will I be doing?

Digital communications

  • Maintain and publish to TI-UK’s digital channels, including our website, LinkedIn, X, Instagram and YouTube, delivering the channel plan agreed with the Senior Communications and Media Manager.

  • Help grow our online presence and profile by producing content that engages different audience segments.

  • Draft and publish reactive digital content in response to breaking stories, within agreed sign-off protocols and speed targets.

  • Apply TI-UK’s brand and tone of voice guidelines consistently across digital content.

  • Monitor our digital channels for moderation issues, hostile or coordinated online engagement and legally sensitive content, responding in line with agreed guidelines and escalating anything outside them.

Content production and multimedia

  • Create engaging digital content across our platforms, including website, social media, video, blogs and other multimedia formats.

  • Develop and produce video and audio content, covering planning, filming, editing, subtitling and formatting for different platforms, from short vertical clips to longer explainer pieces.

  • Produce graphics, data visualisations and other visual assets using design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • Produce digital collateral from events organised by colleagues, including video, graphics and written materials.

  • Work with our research and advocacy teams to translate complex policy issues into accessible, engaging content.

  • Draft and edit blogs, social media content and web content, and contribute to press releases and other communications materials.

Campaign and publication launch delivery

  • Deliver the digital element of our publication launches across the pre-launch, launch day and sustained engagement phases, to the plan agreed for each launch.

  • Contribute to digital campaign plans with programme and communications colleagues, and coordinate the production and scheduling of content against them.

  • Work with colleagues across the organisation on content that showcases our research, advocacy wins and policy impact.

  • Develop email communications to supporters, including newsletters, campaign updates and event invitations.

  • Maintain and build supporter email lists, ensuring effective segmentation and targeting.

Audience growth, analytics and evaluation

  • Monitor and evaluate digital performance through analytics, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.

  • Track and report the digital measures set out in our communications measurement framework, including engagement rate by platform, click-through and referral traffic, and the best-performing content each month.

  • Log evidence of digital influence, such as amplification of our content by journalists, parliamentarians and peer organisations.

  • Contribute digital evidence and insight to monthly communications snapshots and quarterly programme reviews.

General responsibilities

  • Contribute to the maintenance of our website, ensuring content is current, accurate and optimised for search.

  • Keep up to date with developments in platforms, formats and digital tools, including AI tools, and share what they mean for our approach.

  • Take part in training and development to build your skills across digital communications.

  • Support other communications activity as required.

Who are we looking for?

You will have:

  • Experience creating and scheduling content for organisational social media channels, engaging professional or policy audiences.

  • Experience producing and editing video for social media and the web, from filming through to publication.

  • Experience managing website content through a content management system, and producing email communications through an email marketing platform.

  • Experience using analytics to evaluate digital performance and improve content.

  • Experience contributing to digital content for campaigns or publication launches.

  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to make technical subjects clear and compelling for different audiences.

  • Clear, concise and structured communication, including with senior colleagues.

  • Excellent relationship-management and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach to working across teams.

  • An up-to-date understanding of trends and best practice in digital communications, and an interest in anti-corruption.

  • A willingness to develop your skills across digital communications, with training and support.

It would also be useful if you have experience of paid social media advertising, motion graphics, animation or podcast and audio production, or designing and laying out publications such as reports and briefings to brand guidelines using Adobe InDesign or equivalent.

Experience working in an advocacy, policy or campaigning organisation would also be an advantage.
