Job Description

The National Institute of Teaching’s Marketing and Communications function is responsible for building the NIoT brand, raising our profile in the education sector, and promoting our professional development programmes for teachers at every stage of their career. The Marketing & Communications team consists of three people, including the Director of Marketing and Marketing Manager. As a team, we work closely with the NIoT’s four Regions, our four founding Multi-Academy-Trusts and the Associate Colleges as our core partners.  

The successful candidate for this role will have excellent marketing instincts, and the ability to use and analyse data and insights to improve and iterate campaigns.

As the Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for designing and delivering recruitment marketing campaigns for our programme suite, working with our digital agency. c

This is a role with great variety and much to stimulate a communications expert with a desire to make a difference. 

Essential skills 

  • A commitment to the aims of the National Institute of Teaching 

  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills 

  • Attention to detail

  • Experience in running national recruitment campaigns

  • Experience in running digital marketing campaigns for multiple internal products or services, including on social media 

  • Ability to evaluate and communicate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and recommend improvements  

  • Experience of GoogleAdwords and PPC advertising 

  • Confidence and skill in using and analysing data to support KPI reporting and to enable continuous improvement,  

  • Experience of CRM and marketing automation

  • Ability to build collaborative and consultative relationships across the organisation, and to align varied, often competing, interests 

  • Deep understanding of the education sector  

  • A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. 

 

Desirable skills 

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 

  • Previous experience in working in a distributed team where key stakeholders are based across the country 

  • Previous experience in working with a start-up or of setting up marketing processes from scratch 

  • Experience in both B2B and B2C marketing  

Further Information 

The NIoT team is currently made up of seconded staff from its Founding MATs supported by specialist external contractors. We are now transitioning from this start-up phase and are recruiting for permanent staff to take over the work of the NIoT from this founding team.
