Summary of Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Consultant to support our growing offerings around Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions management. You will spearhead the delivery of innovative projects aimed at creating GHG inventories and reduction plans for scope 3, including company supply chains. You will do so while collaborating with Anthesis SMEs with deep technical expertise in GHG Accounting and Reporting, Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), Science Based Targets (SBTs) and Net Zero, Supplier Engagement, and other areas. You will also collaborate extensively with Anthesis team members in Europe and Asia. Your role will be client-facing and enable our clients to deliver measurable impact and GHG emissions reductions from across their value chain.  

Your projects and clients will span multiple industries, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to boutique brands, and require engagement with clients, and their suppliers, around the world. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Leading the delivery of scope 3-related projects 

  • Performing and drawing insights from scope 3 inventories 

  • Conducting research to advance the development of innovative methods for scope 3 emisions accounting and tracking external developments/trends that inform the same 

  • Developing climate action plans focused on supply chain emissions, product design and other areas of scope 3 

  • Building expertise in the team through mentoring and training 

Key Requirements 

  • 5+ years’ experience as a sustainability practitioner, focused on carbon accounting, in either an in-house role and/or consulting role 

  • Strong working knowledge of GHG accounting standards (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064) 

  • Experience in conducting product carbon footprints and LCAs using established databases (e.g., GaBI and EcoInvent) 

  • Experience in developing complex scope 3 GHG inventories, especially for Purchased Goods and Services and Use of Sold Products 

  • Experience in using multiple data types and methods for Purchased Goods & Services, including LCAs, Environmentally Extended Input-Output (EEIO) analysis, and supplier data  

  • Familiarity with Science Based Target setting methods and experience in modelling portfolios of emissions reduction measures to build scope 3 climate action plans 

  • Excellent data manipulation and visualization skills 

  • Excellent communication and project management skills 

  • Effective time management and organizational skills. Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to a dynamic, fast moving and changing work environment 

  • Ability to work on virtual teams across different time zones
