Job Description

The Senior Social Media Manager leads our social media strategy and oversees channel performance and measurement. This role leads a team of social media specialists focused on designing and delivering a range of channel activities that engage audiences and further our organisational vision and support our network of food banks.

 

Role responsibilities

·       Develop, execute and maintain an evidence based, audience focused social media strategy including setting of key performance indicator

·       Provide leadership direction, support and line management. This will include regular 1:1s and annual reviews to ensure objectives and key results are met

·       Lead the management and development of social media channels to engage key audiences, including the publishing of high performing content and values led community management processes

·       Provide proactive specialist consultancy to a wide range of staff and offer expertise on the more effective use of social media to achieve goals

·       Work closely with a range of stakeholders ensure paid and organic social media activity is aligned, integrated and optimised across audiences and channels

·       Works closely with Public Engagement, Strategic Communications, Policy and Operations teams to develop and deliver social media activities that achieve organisational objectives and maintain high levels of compliance and safeguarding

Person Specification

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

·       Deep specialist knowledge of both organic and paid social media platforms and associated management platforms

·       Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to balance a range of objectives across channels

·       Good line management experience, including developing and maintaining high performing teams

·       Extensive crisis management and reputational risk management experience

·       Strong understanding of safeguarding and data privacy practice and policies
