Job Description

About Curve

Founded in 2017, Curve is a leadership development organisation with a difference. We believe that facilitation, leadership and coaching can empower everyone to create the change they need. We help and support leaders to take ownership of their challenges and solutions, and to develop the skillsets and mindsets to build more humane and sustainable organisations.

We’re a team of nine leadership coaches, trainers and workshop facilitators with big plans for 2023, and we're looking for the next member of our close-knit team to help us work more effectively and efficiently. We believe great leadership has the power to transform business for good, rippling out to make a positive impact in the wider world. Sustainability and inclusion are core to our values and the work we deliver. As part of our team, they’ll be core values for you too.

Liaising closely with all members of the team, you’ll play a central role in managing projects and coordinating our work. With a solid understanding of project management and administration, you’ll make sure our projects are delivered smoothly, from startup right through to closedown.

You’ll be comfortable helping us to evaluate our processes and identify areas where we can improve. As an evolving business, we’re eager to find solutions that will make our work as straightforward and enjoyable as possible, so an aptitude for technology and tools is a must for this role.

  • You’re an energetic and proactive self-starter, happy to work remotely and with minimal supervision

  • You’re an effective researcher with a curious mind, eager to find solutions to complex problems

  • You value collaboration and understand the impact diversity has on creating brilliant work

  • You’re a people person who can build strong relationships and help keep Curve a happy and exciting place to work

  • You’re comfortable in assessing and evaluating technology and software solutions

What you’ll be doing

  • Project-manage client projects and Curve’s internal projects, understanding Curve’s project lifecycle process and ensuring great delivery

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the internal workings of Curve and contribute to improving our business processes

  • Provide operational support to the Head of Delivery and Sustainability, making sure internal processes run smoothly

  • Provide support to the Board to administer meetings and track data for Curve’s Key Performance Indicators

  • Work closely with Curve Partners and Head of Delivery and Sustainability to help us achieve our strategic objectives

  • Undertake a research brief to support our business development process, identifying and emailing potential new clients

  • Administrative support to the company

The recruitment process

At Curve we use Applied for our recruitment. Applied aims to overcome unconscious bias in recruiting. Instead of using your CV, we'll be asking you to answer questions to test skills needed for the role. The responses are then anonymised and reviewed in a random order by members of our team.

The Applied platform also asks some demographic questions before you start your application.  We won’t see the responses to these demographic questions with your application. We only see summary statistics to help us check if our candidate pool is balanced and if everyone has an equal chance to get hired irrespective of their background. If you prefer, you can easily opt out of answering these questions.

When you apply via the platform, you’ll answer a series of questions that will be independently scored. Candidates with the highest scores will go through to the interview stage.

Interviews will be held on Zoom, and we’re planning they’ll be in the week commencing 3rd April.

Please note that we're seeking candidates eligible to work in the UK.

What you can expect from Curve

  • A company culture with a difference. Although we work remotely, we’re a tight-knit and supportive team. We manage ourselves and each other through constant collaboration and feedback, leaving hierarchy and pointless productivity behind. We encourage everyone to bring their whole selves to their role at Curve and we value your unique contribution

  • A purpose-driven organisation that seeks to change the world by changing the way business works. Sustainability and diversity are more than nice-to-haves for us; they’re central to what we do and how we do it

  • Flexible working - we focus on outcomes and outputs over time. Days and weeks vary - we aim for 8-hour working days but as long as you can meet your goals, we don’t mind if some days are shorter and others longer

  • This role is for 4 days per week and we’re happy for you to spread them across the week or to work on set days

  • 25 days’ holiday per year, pro rata (plus discretionary days off over the Christmas period as an additional benefit)

  • Personal annual training and development budget

  • 5% contributory pension

  • Salary of £24,000 per year  (for a 4-day week)

  • Potential to join company share scheme
