Job Description

Historic England have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Events Officer.

What you will be doing

This role will help organise a variety of different events that are for Historic England stakeholders, media and specialist audiences. In this role, you will help organise events that support the work of the Communications and Public Engagement Group by delivering events at key project milestones. You will also support events for the Chairman and Chief Executive as directed by the Head of Strategic Events and Portfolio. You will be the main day-to-day contact for suppliers and stakeholders and will help manage all the elements connected with the events.

As our Events Officer, you will plan and execute approximately 6-12 events a year that are varied and differ in size and scope. Looking after both in-person and online events for the CPE Group, with a particular focus on events that support the Group’s priority projects and programmes.

You will be working with the Head of Strategic Events and Portfolio to support events for, and with, the Chief Executive and Chairman.

Who we are looking for

  • Experience of managing or supporting events from initiation to evaluation for stakeholders and specialist audiences (this role does not manage public facing events)

  • Experience of working with a variety of suppliers and stakeholders to deliver events

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven experience of being solutions focussed and able to adapt to emerging situations calmly and in a proactive manner
