Job Description

Historic England have a fantastic opportunity for you to become our Public Engagement Team Assistant, joining us as part of our Public Engagement Strategic Events and Portfolio team.

The location of this role is National where we offer hybrid working, you will be based in one of our following offices and from home - Newcastle, York, Manchester, Birmingham, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth (Fort Cumberland), Cambridge and London. 

Salary

National (Newcastle, York, Manchester, Birmingham, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth) : £23,363 pro-rata

Cambridge: £24,978 pro-rata

What you will be doing

As part of the Public Engagement Strategic Events and Portfolio team you will ensure the Group has excellent administration in all areas of the business.  

Focusing on helping develop and improve the Public Engagement Portfolio Hub. You will maintain the Group’s diary of activity, administration around work flows and the process for prioritising and tracking work requests through to completion. 

You will provide administrative support to specific projects and campaigns, arrange meetings, take minutes and track actions. As an active member of the Strategic Events and Portfolio team, you will support the Group Director and the Head of Strategic Events and Portfolio as well as covering for the Group Executive Assistant and help with finance processes such as raising purchase orders and helping with setting up suppliers.

Who we are looking for

  • Experience of office administration and working in a fast-paced office environment

  • A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills, with experience of dealing with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

  • Excellent skills using Outlook, Word and Teams and good knowledge of other Microsoft 365 packages
