Job Description
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Lead the delivery of the BUCS Football Accredited Universities operating model working closely with the BUCS Football Development team, The FA Staff members, member universities and expert partners to deliver against The FA participation KPIs.
2. Co-ordinate the Accreditation process, recruiting member universities into the network, building and managing relationships with key staff within universities, enabling BUCS to gain insight into the football and futsal landscape across Higher Education (HE).
3. Lead the identification and implementation of Accreditation Standards across the Accredited network. Drive the quality of football provision within participation and workforce pathways in the Higher Education sector.
4. Support the design and delivery of Football Development events (member services) for all Accredited Universities targeting staff, students and the wider workforce.
5. Project manage a FA funded University Development Projects, working with the digital engagement team to demonstrate impact of the funding and promote good practice.
6. Complete all associated reporting, monitoring and evaluation of overall effectiveness of projects ability to deliver against The FA Education strategy.
7. Support the Football Development Manager (Participation) with technology evolution and development to ensure successful integration of the BUCS Football Accredited Universities network into BUCS organisational priorities and processes.
8. Co-ordinate with key stakeholders to enhance the delivery of the alumni offer to The FA University Women’s Leadership Programme.
9. Work with the Football Development Team on budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes that align to accreditation and member services in line with The FA and BUCS HR and financial processes and requirements.
10. Support the Football Development Managers to guide and inform BUCS on the ongoing development and evolution of the BUCS and The FA 3-year strategic plan (2021-24).
11. Support the Football Development Managers to identify and implement evolutions to all aspects of future delivery models for The FA investment into HE.
General:
1. Develop mutually beneficial relationships with the BUCS membership that support the development of football and BUCS led initiatives.
2. Contribute fully to the wider work of the BUCS Football Development Team and organisational priorities. This could include but not limited to, attending working groups, meetings with partners to support the delivery.
3. Support frequent interaction between the FE/HE education team led by The FA and the wider BUCS Development Team.
4. To undertake other duties, activities and responsibilities as required in the delivery of BUCS business.
This role may involve weekend and evening work as well as some overnight stays at BUCS events (all reasonable expenses will be reimbursed). The role may involve national travel to BUCS member institutions and funded partners.
Experience and knowledge
Experience of
· Working or volunteering in football development and/or sport development
· Project management
· Planning and delivering events including presenting in front of large groups
· Leading and coordinating projects and ability to set deadlines
· Organising, collating, analysing and reporting key information – both quantitative and qualitative
· Working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders
· Financial management and processes
Knowledge of
· Key strategic objectives in The FA Grassroots Strategy ‘Survive, Revive, Thrive’ 2021-24
· Core Higher Education offer for Football Accredited Universities
· Football offer within Higher Education including women and girls’ football
