Researchers are responsible for scoping and undertaking high quality research and, with the help of senior members of the research team, producing robust, evidence-based research reports. Researcher will be asked to work across subject areas, allowing them to build a solid basis as policy generalists. They will have a good grasp of different research methodologies (qualitative and/or quantitative). They will have excellent attention to detail. Researchers will be asked to produce high-quality blogs for the Reformer blog and other media outlets. Researchers participate in writing Reform’s weekly newsletter. They might be asked to present Reform’s work in local media and chair Reform events. Researchers will be asked to develop their stakeholder network and will ensure that Reform extracts the maximum benefit from these relationships. Researchers will be asked to write event proposals and support the Events and Communication team in ensuring the successful delivery of events – for example advising on attendees and speakers.

Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to research a wide-range of topics using multiple sources.
Good organisational and project planning skills.
Comfortably able to work independently, prioritise and seek help when needed
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills including self-awareness and empathy.
Strong attention to detail.
Good verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Skills and experience:
An undergraduate degree with a First or 2.1 in a relevant discipline, though those with equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Master’s degree preferred but not required.
1-2 years of work experience in a relevant sector.
Experience of conducting research on public policy.
Excellent analytical and writing skills.
An ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadline.
Good organisational and administrative skills, including in prioritising tasks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A commitment to building and maintaining good professional relationships.
Excellent attention to detail.

Write a 400-word blog on a UK public policy topic of your choice. Imagine that you are writing this piece for the Reformer blog. This task is designed to test your writing and analytical skills, knowledge of Reform’s areas of research, expertise and originality. Upload this blog on the Be Applied website in the section where you will be asked to upload a CV/resume (do no upload your CV). Make sure that you exclude any identifiers from your blog (e.g. do not include your name, email address...).
