Job Description
Project Description:
This project will act as the interface between work in the company data science team and the web development team. Data science have defined data processing pipelines for AI based services using satellite imagery, and produce outputs on a project by project basis (usually through a report). In parallel the web development team have created an automated mapping platform, in which microservices can be deployed for, for example, identifying areas of degraded peatlands. Currently the interface between these service elements is highly manual, with satellite derived data products created, then uploaded manually to the mapping platform and stored in S3 on AWS. With more consideration this process could be automated, with satellite data being pulled automatically from a source (this could be AWS which hosts Sentinel type data products). This data could then be processed by the data science team scripts, before being displayed to the user. In this way a non-technical user (e.g. an ecologist) could instantly access AI based satellite imagery data products without the need for any domain knowledge, or input from the EOLAS development team. It is this approach that will enable EO derived automated mapping services for the geospatial sector.
