Job Description

Start Date- 2022

About Us:

We’re all about understanding the world, consumers, brands and issues by listening and analysing what people say, show and do on social media.

Social Intelligence blends technology, analytics and deep consumer understanding and is reshaping the way organisations connect with and understand their customers. It is constantly evolving, driven forward by tech innovation, and the best part is that we're only just getting started.

Social Intelligence has been part of Ipsos for the past decade and it’s now one of our Big 4 focal areas.  The UK Social Intelligence team was formed in and has developed rapidly. However, we’re relatively new compared to more traditional research approaches, which makes it an exciting team and time to join!

Ipsos has a unique capability in Social Intelligence as we own a leading social media technology company, have in-house data analysts and draw on extensive global experience in human understanding. We take pride in applying the best of everything we know to our work and strive to bring clients the best-in-market. There isn't a blueprint for a successful social intelligence analyst or any preconceived notion about what they look like. For those who are curious about people and their behaviour, and have a keen interest in digital research, there is a real opportunity to become both a role model for future social intelligence analysts and an architect of what that future looks like.

Your Role:

As a Graduate Research Executive, you’ll be encouraged to take responsibility from the outset - thrown straight into working on live projects for some our clients.

You will gain exposure to a variety of research approaches, whilst working alongside acknowledged industry experts.

  • Seeing the end to end project life cycle: taking client briefs, working through time lines and costings, query development, analysis and liaising with colleagues as you go.

  • You will focus on what the data means – be it the hard metrics and the softer interpretation of what people are telling us.

  • You will learn to be able to answer key questions, like: ‘what new trends are emerging in my category?’, ‘what do people around the world think about my product?’ or ‘how has Covid-19 influenced how people eat snacks?’.

  • You’ll help us think about how we can deliver our conclusions in an engaging and creative way.

Our Offer:

Our Generation Ipsos programme provides a comprehensive foundation in research and how it’s practically applied in a commercial environment. You’ll be trained in client management, project management and the nitty-gritty of Social Intelligence, ranging from the technology, an understanding of the analytics and qualitative understanding. You’ll learn through real life, hands-on experience, webinars, seminars and specialist workshops. We’ll provide you with dedicated training designed to achieve the industry recognised Market Research Society (MRS) Advanced Certificate accreditation. Networking is a key skill so we have Early Careers events with other Graduates, Placement Students and Interns across the company.

Having a flexible working culture where we support our colleagues and celebrate our successes is important to us.  We invest our time in you and you’ll benefit from working alongside our expert teams.  Your manager will help you set goals to achieve your personal objectives throughout the year and help you exceed these.

And the fun stuff …

  • 25 days’ holiday which increases over time to 30 days, plus an extra day for your birthday.

  • 4pm finish on a Friday

  • Annual summer and All Staff events

  • Team Christmas parties

  • Season ticket loan

  • A huge variety of benefits e.g. pension contributions, income protection, winter flu jabs, eye care vouchers, online and high street discounts

About You:

  • A real excitement in understanding consumers at scale with both empathy and objectivity

  • A natural curiosity about the world we live in and an intrigue for human behaviour

  • Affinity with the digital world and how it’s evolving.

Along with ….

  • The ability to work logically and creatively while thinking commercially

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous approach to analysing data

  • Strong interpersonal skills – the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively

  • The unrestricted right to work in the UK

Those who are successful at this stage will be progressed to a gamified test, and then a virtual interview.
