Job Description

Cafe Assistant

To assist in the daily running of our busy Café at our Visitor Centre, providing an exceptional level of customer service to guests.

What you'll be doing;

• Assisting in maintaining a high standard of health & hygiene in the café

• Promoting an excellent level of customer service

• Food and drink preparation as part of the daily menu and event hospitality

• Assisting with stock rotation and reduction of waste in the café

• Cashing up, alongside colleagues

• Acting as the public face of BBOWT and promoting a positive image of the organisation to all guests

• Adhering to all policies, procedures and systems

• Engendering a culture of membership recruitment within the team

• Ensuring that all health and safety obligations are met in all aspects of the role

• Any other duties as delegated by the Café Supervisor, Visitor Operations Manager, Head of Department or Chief Executive

* Food Safety certification and Allergy Awareness Training are needed for this post.

These certificates need to be achieved once appointed in post (if not already qualified). In these instances, the candidate appointed will receive appropriate training and must pass the assessment within a month of being in post. A consistent failure to achieve an adequate standard in these tests is likely to mean that the worker contract will be terminated.
