About KSS AHSN

Kent Surrey Sussex AHSN (KSS AHSN) is one of 15 AHSNs set up by NHS England in 2013 and relicensed from April 2018 to operate as the key innovation arm of the NHS.

KSS AHSN is commissioned by the Office for Life Sciences (OLS) and NHS England to deliver a programme of work which underpins the acceleration, creation and adoption of health innovations. About you and the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the KSS AHSN Programme Delivery team for a Programme Coordinator.  The specific focus of this role, upon appointment, will be to support our Respiratory workstreams.  The role would potentially suit a graduate, ideally with a degree qualification in a science or health-related subject. Experience, or a proven interest in quality, innovation and technology would also be an advantage.

This is a busy and fast-paced role that requires a proactive, flexible individual with a ‘can do’ attitude.  They will be highly organised and skilled in information gathering and problem-solving.  They will be responsible for the coordination and maintenance of a contacts database for the programme and tasked with managing related programme communications.   The successful candidate will horizon scan, produce summary reports and work closely with varying internal and external stakeholders.  Ideally, they will have some experience in event management. They will provide high-level administrative support to both their internal and external stakeholders.   In addition, they will exhibit highly competent knowledge and experience of various IT platforms, including; Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, content management systems, social media and so on.  The position holder will also possess highly effective communication skills (both verbally and in writing) and be able to pitch their communications appropriately, to a wide range of professionals and varying audiences.   They will also be experienced at servicing meetings (including agenda formation) and in taking accurate and concise minutes at meetings, as well as tracking those actions until completion.

Your skills and expertise

You'll be the right person for this job if you:

  • Have excellent IT and digital skills and are competent in the use of Microsoft Office 365 and content management systems. 

  • Possess knowledge and experience of the associated resources required to conduct remote meetings and events (i.e. video conferencing and other presentation media).     

  • Have an ability to work flexibly and cooperatively with others.

  • Are highly organised with strong attention to detail.

  • Possess good data analysis skills with a keen eye for trends.

  • Are able to plan, organise, and prioritise own workload.

  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Have a strong focus on customer service with both internal and external stakeholders.

If appointed on KSS AHSN terms and conditions, in return, we offer an attractive salary and generous annual leave, of 33 days per annum, plus UK Bank Holidays (pro-rata).
