Job Description

Our HR Team are looking to recruit an experienced HR Advisor. This is an exciting time to support our ambitious people programme in guiding the development and growth of an expanding organisation.

The role will involve supporting the HR Team in the effective delivery of a professional generalist HR service for Homes England. The successful candidate will use their extensive knowledge and experience to support with enabling cultural change as well as the provision of a comprehensive HR service for the organisation.

CIPD qualified or working towards, candidates will have demonstrable generalist HR experience. Applicants will have strong communication, persuasion and influencing skills.

Role Requirements

• Provides comprehensive advice, interpretation and guidance on employment matters and HR policies, practices and processes to the business, escalating more complex issues to senior colleagues or specialist teams as appropriate;

• Supports the day-to-day operational delivery of People Plans and activities defined and led by specialist HR teams and HRBP colleagues;

• Works closely across the ER team but supports a dedicated client group, liaising with the HRBPs to ensure a joined up HR service;

• Manages employee relations policies, procedures, performance management issues, conflict resolution etc. and escalating to senior colleagues as appropriate;

• Engages managers in development of talent and capability within their areas of responsibility;

• Develop and support managers in their people management practices;

• Support conflict management (including managing grievances);

• Updates and maintains HR policies and processes with the Employee Relations Manager and HR Services Manager;

• Support resourcing and talent management activity within business units;

• Provide coaching and support for the HR Services team enabling the development of the first line team;

• Provides secretariat support to the JNCC

• Provide support for central HR projects as appropriate.

Skills and Knowledge

• Experience of working in an HR advisory capacity providing case management support to line managers

• A record of extensive support in case management and employee relations

• Good experience of risk assessment and creation of solutions to mitigate risk

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• A record of continuous professional development, evidencing how this has been used to bring about change/improvements related to capability and talent.

• A working knowledge of project management principles, used to deliver quality outcomes in complex stakeholder environments.

• Hold a CIPD qualification or equivalent industry standard in Human Resource Management.
