About Ashden
Ashden’s mission is to showcase outstanding climate solutions, and to accelerate systemic change that unleashes their transformative potential.
We boost innovative enterprises and organisations in the UK and Global South. Our support brings clean energy to villages and refugee camps, and fixes up cold and draughty homes. We make schools more sustainable, and help communities protect and restore the nature around them.
We do this by shining a spotlight on innovators, and connecting them with new partners. And we work with funders and policymakers to influence, inspire and raise ambition. Ashden supports good green jobs, better health and fairer societies.
About the role
This role will help us deliver the communications elements of our international programmes. These programmes support Global South enterprises and organisations to scale up their work delivering access to clean, affordable energy, and protection for tropical forests.
The role-holder will develop compelling material that showcases the impact of our local programme partners, and of the programmes themselves, to target audiences – particularly funders and investors. This will involve combining data and human stories in well-evidenced, impact-focused storytelling.
The role-holder's focus will be on written content such as webpages, social media posts and reports, but the role-holder will also support the production of other kinds of content (e.g films, photography, events).
As well as developing material for Ashden’s channels, the role-holder will also help Ashden give tailored communications support to many of our programme partners – building their communications capacity. To do this the role-holder will need to track and understand our partners’ needs, and work with Ashden colleague’s and external contractors to ensure support is delivered promptly and to an excellent standard

How to apply
Taking note: research shows that while men tend to apply for jobs when they meet around 60% of the criteria, women and marginalised people tend to only apply when they check every box. So, if you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still apply.

Applications to Ashden are reviewed by members of our team, and the use of AI-generated content in recruitment can sometimes lack depth, authenticity, and creativity, and may result in applications not being progressed. Therefore, whilst AI may be a supplemental tool you choose to use to enhance your application (for example by researching or formatting your application) we encourage you to showcase your skills and experience in an authentic, honest, and personal way.
We use Applied, a behavioural science-backed recruitment platform that reduces bias, improves quality of hire and increases diversity. To apply, you will log in to the platform and answer three questions which will be scored anonymously by the recruitment panel. We will hold one round of interviews in person at our office in Victoria, London during the week commencing 2 March 2026. We will reimburse candidates for their travel.
