Job Description

Unifrog’s mission

We’re on a mission to level the playing field when it comes to young people finding and applying for their next step after school. We're achieving this by bringing all the available information into one single, impartial, user-friendly platform that helps students to make the best choices, and submit the strongest applications. We also empower teachers and counsellors to manage the progression process effectively.

Our outlook is global - we work with schools and universities all over the world, from the US to New Zealand, and from Italy to Hong Kong. We want to make it so that young people can compare every opportunity taught in English, wherever it is in the world, and have all the support they need to make successful applications.

We have a clear social purpose, and we’re hugely ambitious. We already work with nearly half of UK secondary schools, and hundreds of international schools. We are growing rapidly in terms of the number of our customers, in terms of how much they use our platform, and in terms of the breadth of products we offer.

Our team is at the heart of our business and is integral to our success. We work hard to foster a culture of openness, happiness and innovation, and we commit to helping every individual learn and grow so that they can reach their full potential. We want to hire talented people, whatever their background. If you are excited by our mission and are ready to work hard, please don’t hesitate to apply. We look forward to hearing from you!

We believe in the power of diversity. If you are from an ethnic minority background, we would like to strongly encourage you to apply. In advance of applying if you have any questions about working at Unifrog, please contact our Diversity Champions, Hannah and Farhana.

Content at Unifrog

Whether we are communicating through images, video or text, we always try to be straightforward, honest, and to show respect for the people with whom we are communicating.

Clear communication is particularly important for us because our mission is to level the playing field when it comes to access to opportunities, and a big part of this effort is fair and straightforward access to information. It’s also important for us to be fun, while not talking down to young people.

We’ve got some exciting projects coming up including the launch of our new Courses offering. Like MOOCs (massive open online courses), these online subject and career tasters will grant students in our community access to deeper information and experience of different pathways to help them decide what they want to do after school.

The role and responsibilities

Are you super creative and love being in front of the camera? Do you live and breathe social media and know what resonates with a Gen Z audience? Unifrog is looking for a sociable, experienced and highly organised content creator and presenter to be the face of our brand new Courses offering and social media presence. The successful candidate will star in a wide range of videos as the presenter of our different Courses and be responsible for creating content to appeal to students aged 11-18 across TikTok and Instagram. In addition, the candidate will support our Events Manager to run our student webinars, fairs and similar events. There will be more time to spend on the social media aspect of the role during seasonal lulls for events.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Presenting (about 40% of the role):

    • Be the face of our brand new Courses offering - star in a wide range of videos as the host of our different Courses, ranging from university subject tasters to virtual work experience with top employers.

    • Host webinars – run live sessions, field questions from students, and facilitate discussions between our expert panellists.

    • Support our Content team to adapt course outlines into scripts.

  • Events (about 40% of the role during busy periods):

    • Liaise with speakers and exhibitors to make sure they are prepared for upcoming events and host live sessions during our University and Careers Fairs.

    • Work with student influencers to develop a strong student community who wants to engage with our events and the Unifrog platform.

    • Provide on-the-day support for in-person events, including assisting with the set-up and close down.

  • Social media (about 20% of the role):

    • Set up and run a Unifrog TikTok account, alongside transforming our existing Instagram account.

    • Come up with innovative ways to boost followers and engagement across our social media platforms.

    • Create social media snippets from long-form video.

Working together

You’ll be working as part of a small marketing team, alongside our Head of Marketing (your line manager), Events Manager, and Events Assistant, as part of the wider Content and Marketing team. You’ll also be working closely with our Video team to share best practice and follow consistent visual identity guidelines for creating video for social media.

Skills and experience

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong organisation skills and a keen attention to detail.

  • Experience in creating content for social media, with a deep understanding of what resonates with a Gen Z audience.

  • Proven engagement on TikTok or maintaining a personal brand.

  • Comfortable working both as part of a team and independently, and able to take the initiative when required.

  • Experience in working on events (ideally both online and in person) is preferred but not required.

  • A passion for levelling the playing field in education, careers and development.

  • Proactive attitude and willingness to get stuck in. You need to be excited about going beyond the core responsibilities to improve what we do and make it a success.

You will be joining a team of highly motivated people who are passionate about our mission of helping students to find the best next step for them after school. If this excites you and you’re an energetic person who is willing to learn, then we’d love to hear from you.
