Our growth has been exponential over the past five years and we are looking to develop a strategic and innovative tax offering by adding a talented tax accountant to our team. You should keep reading if:

• Are based in Melbourne, Sydney or Byron Bay

• Are a CA, CPA or other equivalent

• Are eligible to work in Australia

• Have at least 3-5 years of professional experience at a big-4 in corporate tax or private clients, or mid tier accounting firm in tax compliance (note that this role could also accommodate candidates with 5+ years of tax experience)

• Tax compliance is your jam and you love the idea of rethinking how this could be delivered to startups, early-stage ventures, scaleups and the next generation of investment funds.

• Have worked with Xero

• Believe that commercial realities must be balanced against tax and accounting compliance complexities

It would be an added bonus if you have any of the following in your toolkit:

• You’re a registered tax agent (or ability to become one pretty quickly - this would be a requirement for this role)

• Experience advising high growth tech companies or VCs

• Have started your own business or have experience working in a startup

• You’ve got a law degree

• You have experience collaborating with lawyers to deliver outcomes for clients 

Your role at LUNA:

• Service Delivery - providing end to end accounting support to the most exciting startups and venture capital funds in Australia with a focus on tax compliance tailored to the startup world.

• Build LUNA's Tax Practice — we want you to play an integral role in building our tax compliance business. Alongside our Head of Accounting, Daniel Ross, you will be helping us build LUNA tax from the ground up (everything from system and process design to hiring and scaling).

• BD - we don’t see rain making as something that is just for “Partners” — it’s a core skill for any entrepreneur and that’s exactly how we see all of our team: entrepreneurial in spirit and attitude. This might mean attending and representing LUNA at startup events or taking clients out for coffee but we will let you dictate how you approach BD. Building a BD strategy for the growing tax practice will be a key focus of this role.

• Impact — we want you to have an impact beyond our tax and accounting services. This means presenting to accelerator programs and founders, writing up helpful articles and blog posts and using tech to build out new accounting products.
