Job Description

The organisation

Unlocked Graduates is an award-winning charity which exists to break cycles of reoffending by developing outstanding individuals to lead rehabilitation in prisons and throughout society.

At the core of our mission is a leadership development programme that brings top graduates into prisons to work as frontline prison officers for two years. This programme includes mentoring, work placements in partner organisations and a fully funded master’s degree. All of which they take part in while taking on the full duties of a frontline prison officer.

The role

Interns are an invaluable part of our team and work across all areas, undertaking a wide variety of tasks. We are looking for an outstanding candidate to work closely with the Programme team to plan, deliver and evaluate programme events and training, gaining broad experience in project management, relationship management and event coordination, as well as a specific insight into the training required to become an exceptional prison officer. This role will also be responsible for the newsletters and other communications sent to our participants.

The role is based in London but as the programme is national, some travel will be required to Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds.

Key accountabilities

  • Co-ordinating design and delivery of training materials

  • Relationship management with guest speakers and key suppliers

  • On-the-day event delivery and logistical support

  • Designing internal documents to support trainers and Head Office staff

  • Management of the programme team finances including invoices and credit card returns

  • Responsible for participant newsletters and other communications

  • Admin support for the wider programme team: booking travel, accommodation

  • Managing data using Salesforce and other tools

  • Diary support for the senior programme team and arrangement of external meetings (including with the Senior Leadership Team and VIPs)

You must be passionate and enthusiastic about Unlocked’s mission and values, and be able to demonstrate:

  • outstanding organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and manage your time effectively

  • a keen desire to create a quality training experience

  • excellent teamwork within and across teams

  • flexibility and an eagerness to get stuck in to tasks with minimal supervision

  • computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel
