Job Description
Project Description:
The applicant is expected to learn the following tasks to successfully complete the project:
- Understand the advantages and disadvantages of LEO and GEO - Be able to configure and test a multi-orbit solutions (GEO+LEO)
- Understand how SD-WAN solution work. - Understand how IoT works via the satellites
- Spend one week in Fuchsstadt, Germany meeting teleport staff and potential customers
- Prepare a presentation/script for the demonstrations
In addition, the student will learn the basics of link budget on Geosynchronous Orbit (GEO) satellites and understand the future Innovations Intelsat is developing.
Applicant Specification: : The applicant must have some knowledge of telecommunication, be able to use Microsoft applications (SharePoint, OneNote, PowerPoint) and be able to travel in Germany for one week
Academic: Undergraduate student
Minimum requirements: Knowledge of telecommunication and a curious mind Desirable requirements: Knowledge of satellite communications

8 weeks minimum fixed term contract to be agreed with successful candidate. In-person/hybrid Induction Event to be held on 24th June 2024, at the Satellite Applications Catapult, Fermi Ave, Harwell and an in-person/hybrid Showcase Event to be held at the 2024 UK Space Conference. Ideally to complete before August 31st, 2024. £1,925/pcm gross.
