Job Description
Role Overview This position plays a crucial role in supporting kinship carers by helping them understand the full scope of their responsibilities, the options available to them, and how to access the necessary information and advice for their kinship families in England.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and facilitate introductory training workshops for kinship carers, alongside a colleague with kinship experience.
Participate in the delivery of regional roadshows across the country, assisting with on-the-day facilitation and presenting to kinship carers in England.
Deliver introductory training at local peer support groups in addition to the roadshows.
Provide line management to the Kinship Experienced In Person Facilitator.
Team Integration You will be part of a newly established team, Advice, Training and Information, which is dedicated to creating a positive and impactful learning experience for kinship carers across England.
Skills and Attributes
You must be a strong facilitator and communicator, adept at delivering content to kinship carers.
Calm under pressure, you will excel in leading workshops and training sessions for both small and large audiences.
Essential qualities include being interactive, engaging, and able to read the room effectively.
A natural curiosity and drive to continually improve delivery and enhance the experience for kinship carers is vital.
The role requires someone open to feedback, with a focus on the needs of kinship carers and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Training and Development As part of this new training service, you will receive comprehensive training and development to ensure your success in the role, which may include overnight stays during induction and training.
Travel Requirements This role involves travel, and we are open to discussing how this can be managed, particularly if you have kinship caring responsibilities. You will not be responsible for logistics.
Objectives for this RoleCo-deliver outstanding introductory roadshows to kinship carers across England (16 within a 12-month period) as part of a delivery team.
Lead introductory workshops for peer support groups in England (target of 20+ within a 12-month period).
Gain an in-depth understanding of kinship care in England (training and support will be provided).
Ensure a consistent approach to training, adhering to manualisation processes.
Effectively facilitate roundtable discussions as part of the roadshow format.
Support consultation events with kinship carers to co-design the service.
Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for service delivery, including a 90% kinship carer satisfaction rate.
Ensure training is accessible and adapted as required.
Represent the service both in person and online, contributing to online resources and promotional content.
Confidently create video and verbal content for online resources.
Contribute to case studies and provide insights to influence policy and campaign development.
Utilise Salesforce effectively as a case management system to support high-performance service delivery and evaluation.
Collaborate with the Advice Service, Peer Support Service, and Programmes teams to establish onward referral pathways.
Work with local authorities to create regional content for introductory workshops at peer support groups.
Ensure tone, language, and branding align with Kinship guidelines.
Actively contribute to the team’s performance and demonstrate a commitment to personal development.
Embrace Kinship’s values and behaviours in your day-to-day role, fostering collaboration and learning across the organisation.
Line manage and supervise the Kinship Experienced In Person Facilitator, setting clear objectives to meet targets and outcomes.
Encourage personal development and continuous learning, increasing efficiency and impact within the team.
Ensure proper induction processes and systems are in place and serve as a role model for Kinship values.
