Job Description
About Future Group
At Future Group, we’re making money moves and changing the way super is done. By giving people a chance to invest their life savings in companies that don’t harm the planet, we’re showing the power super has to change the world!
We are looking for a Mid-Level Graphic Designer to support all our brands - Future Super, Verve Super, Smart Monday, GuildSuper and Child Care Super and join our purpose-led high-growth scaleup to steward Future Group’s design and creative expression. Our designers are the custodians of our visual identity. But this isn’t just a design job: you’ll play a pivotal role in how we bring our ambition to life through our brand. Your north star: creating work people can’t help but talk about.
And you’ll get to work with some fantastic work mates. People who build apps in their spare time, have started clothing companies, can recite Aaron Sorkin’s life’s work, and who can read your star chart.
We strongly encourage applications from people with diverse lived experience and identities, as the problems we face are complex, and the more diverse our team is, the better our solutions become. We are a team that is all about building a strong workplace culture, that's not only diverse, but competent. We are always learning and doing better together, and holding ourselves to account on our values.
Future Group values lived experience and we encourage applications from people with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, who have caring responsibilities, from culturally and racially marginalised groups, people with disability, people who experience ageism, LGBTQIA+ people, and people who experience social exclusion because of their social class.
If you require any adjustments throughout the recruitment process, please contact careers@futuregroup.com.au. We want to ensure our recruitment process is equitable for all, and will happily make any reasonable adjustments where required.
You’ll love this job if:
You find superannuation opaque and frustrating, if you had the chance to revolutionise the industry to be better for people, you would
You fundamentally believe that good design plays a crucial role in communicating our purpose, mission and values
You are excited about working in a creative team that is collectively innovating within and pushing the expression of each of our brands
You want to rumble on fresh and cool ideas with copywriters, product designers, performance marketers and more
We’re looking for someone who:
Believes in Future Group’s mission and has a passion for moving Australia’s money out of fossil-fuels and into renewable energy
Has 2-3 years of experience in brand and/or graphic design
Is highly proficient in digital design tools including the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)
Is proficient in (or open to learning more about) Figma
Is eager to learn, experiment, try new tools and refine their design thinking processes
It would be great if you also had:
Basic video editing experience
Basic motion graphic experience (even a GIFing is a huge plus)
As the Mid-Level Designer you will:
Work with the senior designer to support the visual expression of our brands in engaging and creative ways
Bring campaigns, ads, landing pages, member communications and internal communications to life with the support of our creative and marketing teams
Don’t tick all the boxes? That’s okay, we like thinking outside the box. We value skills, passion and who you are over what you’ve done or where you’ve studied. So if this job resonates with you, we want to hear from you!
Why would you enjoy working at Future Group?
A purpose-driven organisation, spending your days working on making this world a better place! The more we grow, the bigger the impact we are making on climate change and inequality
A proud B Corp organisation (Future Super) that cares about how it behaves inside and out
Heaps of flexibility to fit work into your life (not your life around our work) and the opportunity to work with your manager to define what that looks like for you now and in the future
AFR’s Best Place to Work 2022 (Future Super) for the banking, superannuation and financial services sector
The choice to work from home, from one of our co-working spaces, from anywhere within Australia or even from overseas (for a short period of time)
Team lunches and company-wide events
Progressive, people-focused policies and benefits including Menstrual and Menopausal Leave, Mental Health Leave and Gender Affirmation Guidelines and Leave (you can check them out here)
We offer employee network groups for people from diverse backgrounds: SuperGenders for cisgender women, trans men and women and non-binary folks; SuperGlobal for culturally diverse folks; and SuperPride for LGBTQIA+ folks. The groups are a safe, supportive space for people to share experiences and ideas
14 weeks’ paid parental leave for all genders and a generous parental superannuation package, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), formal training and development with continuous improvement opportunities, and membership to Bicycle NSW (or your State or Territory’s equivalent) as part of our sustainable transport policy
Future Group is an equal opportunity employer – we provide flexible working hours, the option to work from home and a laptop you can use to work remotely (this used to be a more differentiating dot-point, but it’s still true!)
