Job Description
Outreach Executive
The CFA Society of the UK is looking for an outreach executive to join its team. The outreach team is responsible for leading CFA UK’s engagement with the investment sector and the manager will play a key role in delivering the strategy and supporting the Director of Outreach and the Relationship Manager.
The role will be well suited to candidates looking to build a career in relationship management within the investment sector. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to sit for the IMC qualification and the CFA Level Program to support their career development. They will also be able to build a network across the investment sector enabling them to identify and pursue their chosen career path.
The role will incorporate the following tasks:
· Contact management
· Target research
· Campaign planning and implementation
· Calendar management
· Meeting preparation and follow up
This role is ideally suited to an individual who enjoys meeting customers and has strong presentation skills. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to attend client meetings with the other team members and, in time, take on their own book of business, supporting delivery of the outreach team’s objectives. Strong organisational skills are critical to success as is a genuine interest in developing a rewarding career in the investment profession. A keen interest in sustainability would also be helpful (but not necessary) given the CFA UK’s leading position as a provider of sustainable investment qualifications. Language skills would also be helpful and competency in Excel and Powerpoint are required.
Activities
· Provide the data and research to develop the annual client and prospect outreach strategy and then support the strategy's delivery.
· Identify networking opportunities and opportunities for development of senior stakeholder relationships.
· Research to identify and build partnerships with relevant bodies.
· Conduct research on firms/investment themes to advise on how to engage with firms.
· Undertake daily industry-relevant research, market analysis and identify key trends to guide outreach activities.
· Create systems and reporting templates to summarise key outcomes.
· Work with other departments at CFA UK to survey stakeholders, share ideas and identify suitable prospects.
· Manage the outreach database and extract the relevant information on strategy progress
· Identify new prospects using Linkedin and other tools to target firms effectively.
· Support on presentations to firms and at industry events on the CFA UK proposition. Prepare slides and other materials.
· Measure and report on outputs: Write up meeting notes, communicate outcomes, maintain data and track employer relationships.
· Support the team on external stakeholder engagement to understand market needs and opportunities.
Experience / qualifications – Essential
· Administrative skills with an ability to report effectively on team outputs
· Strong organisation, task management and ability to work to deadlines
· Excellent verbal and written communication and attention to detail
· Critical thinking, practical problem-solving to juggle multiple projects
· Proficiency in MS Dynamics, Excel, Powerpoint and apps
· Adaptability, teamwork and collaboration
· Initiative and proactive approach
Reports to: Director of Outreach
Location: Boston House, New Broad Street, London, EC2M 1JJ
Contract: 5 days a week on a permanent basis
Salary: £30,000
Start date: As soon as possible
Working hours
- Typical working hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (with additional hours needed at month-end)
- Hybrid – 3 days a week in the office
