Job summary

The role is responsible for the development and delivery of the Whizz-Kidz events portfolio. You will have ownership of specific events and activities, as well as working alongside the Events Fundraising Manager to support the delivery of the full portfolio, including London Marathon. This role will focus on achieving a consistent outstanding supporter care experience and maximising long term charity wide engagement and retention opportunities for Whizz-Kidz event participants.

The Person

Whizz-Kidz is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to represent the charity. As the Events Fundraising Executive you will be an integral member of the team, managing and developing your own portfolio of events. You will be proactive, capable of managing a busy workload and a team player with excellent communication and people skills. You will have a proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and build relationships with external audiences through effective communications and engagement activities. You will understand how to motivate and influence individuals to support Whizz-Kidz's work, and able to identify and pursue opportunities for improvement. Key accountabilities

• Delivering key events in the portfolio and Whizz-Kidz supporter engagement activities within those events. From project management through to post event evaluation, adhering to deadlines and KPI’s.

• Keeping up-to-date with current trends in the UK events market and charity sector to feed in to competitor analysis for the Events Fundraising Team when required.

• Being a key point of contact for events participants and respond to all correspondence, building strong relationships with event participants which lead to long term engagement.

• Developing and delivering Whizz-Kidz personalised and sustained supporter journey through all communication methods to ensure participants are regularly motivated not only to exceed their individual fundraising targets, but to maximise their lifetime value to Whizz-Kidz.

• Manage and maintain accurate contact management records on Raiser’s Edge including correspondence and feedback from all participants.

• Build strong working relationships with other members of the Events and Community team and the wider Fundraising team and support other team members when required.

• Produce tailored materials, e.g. fundraising packs and newsletters to motivate and support event participants.

• Assist in supervising the work of volunteers and junior staff members to deliver on the team's objectives

• Focus on increasing awareness of the cause and making it integral to the events portfolio throughout. Liaise with the Communications team to assist in identifying potential media hooks to generate cause-led awareness via the event.

• Be responsible for the upkeep to the web pages for assigned events and work with the Communications team to ensure social media promotion of these events.

• Working closely with the Marketing and Communications team, Events Fundraising Manager and Senior Events and Community Fundraising Manager to seek innovative ways to increase recruitment and awareness from new and existing supporters.

• Working closely with the Marketing and Communications team to build digital marketing campaigns for assigned events Define target audiences for successful event promotion across Google and Facebook and social platforms ensuring content is consistent and current.

Skills and knowledge

• A good understanding of the events fundraising market and trends • An understanding of the importance and benefits of brand management, appropriate marketing and PR

• An ability to understand the need for, and impact of Whizz-Kidz's work, and translate this appropriately for a public audience

• Excellent planning and time management skills

• Strong numeracy skills and ability to effectively manage budgets to deliver return on investment

• Proactive team player with a solutions-focused approach

• Strong written and verbal communications skills

• Excellent attention to detail and level of accuracy in all areas of work

• Computer literate (internet, email, Excel, databases, e.g. Raiser’s Edge)
