About the role

In this role you’ll be helping inspire communities across the New Forest to take part in arts and cultural activities as well as helping communities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to move more.

You’ll use your creativity to bring our Culture in Common programme to life with your visual storytelling and content. 

You’ll also be curious about understanding our communities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, through audience research and social listening. 

You’ll also be helping us and Arts Council England monitor success, and evaluate what works when engaging communities, and what doesn’t.

Pay and Benefits

·      Full time role (35 hours per week)

·      Salary range: £25,700 to £32,500 per annum

·      25 Days holiday (plus bank + public holidays)

·      Hybrid working

·      10% Employer pension contribution 

Role Highlights

We work across the whole of the Hampshire and the Isle of wight, but much of your work will be focussed in the New Forest. You’ll be

  • Coordinating a range of online and offline activities and campaigns, creating and publishing assets across a range of media.

  •  Support in the marketing of the Culture in Common events program.

  •  Engaging in social listening and audience research to gather information about local communities

  •  Capturing stories to encourage engagement in arts and culture and physical activity

  •  Updating the websites for Culture in Common and Energise Me

  •  Creating and sending newsletters

  •  Attending events and workshops across the New Forest to capture content and represent Culture in Common

Who we're looking for

We’re looking for a passionate marketing and communications officer, with great digital and social media skill. You’ll

  • Be creative thinker with the ability to bring stories to life

  • Passionate about engaging with communities

  • Have a good eye behind the camera – either photography or videography

  • Be interested in the New Forest

Other Things to Know

We offer great flexibility as an organisation. We’re in the office two days a week and make sure we’re all in Winchester on a Tuesday and Lyndhurst on a Wednesday so we can meet as a team. The rest of the week you’ll be working remotely in our priority places or at home – it’s up to you.

Culture in Common works in communities across the New Forest, travel across the district will be expected as part of the role.

The role is part of our Marketing Team. You’ll be supported by the Head of Marketing and Communications and Culture in Common Programme Director to grow and develop your own skills and knowledge. 

Culture in Common is hosted by Energise Me and overseen by a consortium of organisations: Energise Me, Folio, The Handy Trust, New Forest District Council and New Forest National Park Authority.
