Job Description

The Holocaust Educational Trust team is made up of hard working, energetic people who are passionate about our mission to educate every person from every background in the UK about the Holocaust and its contemporary relevance. We believe that the Holocaust must have a permanent place in our nation’s collective memory. We work across the UK, providing a wide range of educational programmes.

Over the course of our history, we have created and delivered innovative and meaningful learning experiences – teaching young people about the Holocaust and ensuring that our educational initiatives have a long term and positive impact on the people we reach.  In June 2024, we launched Testimony 360: People and Places of the Holocaust, after several years of research and development. Testimony 360 is a groundbreaking educational initiative for schools that combines digital Holocaust survivor testimony with VR, providing a memorable and impactful experience for young people learning about the Holocaust.

We are looking for a proactive, positive and team-oriented Programme Coordinator to work within our busy and fast-paced team. You will need to use your initiative and have a willingness to adapt to changing demands and priorities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of organisational skills, integrity, problem solving and people skills.

To join this rapidly growing team would be an opportunity to be at the forefront of Holocaust education at this critical point in time when the Holocaust is moving from living memory into history.

The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:

·       Effective organisational skills; ability to plan and prioritise a heavy workload and keep to targets and deadlines

·       Analytical with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to process information quickly when needed

·       Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to work effectively with different audiences

·       Ability to take initiative, proactively problem solve with changing circumstances, and work without constant supervision

·       Excellent IT skills, with demonstrable Excel, Outlook, and video conferencing abilities

·       The drive to learn new, and sometimes complicated, processes and systems

In your first 6 months, you’ll:

·       Review, improve, implement and maintain accurately a booking system for the programme

·       Process incoming requests from schools and other organisations, confirming bookings for both online and in-person sessions.

·       Contact teachers and our educators to make arrangements for sessions with schools

·       Reply confidently and in a timely way, to general enquiries from teachers, students and members of the public about the programme and other areas of our work

·       Track programme expenses, with an awareness of agreed budgets, and send invoices

·       Compile and share participation statistics for the programme

·       When required, play a supporting role at school visits across the UK

·       Track and maintain the condition of the Testimony 360 kit (comprising of VR headsets, laptops, tablets etc), ensuring that all components are in good working order and accounted for

·       Be the point of contact for our courier company, ensuring that equipment is securely stored and delivered to each school as needed.

After 6 months in post, we'd expect you to:

·       Continue delivering the above, plus conceive and implement logistical and administrative changes as the programme evolves and grows

·       Maintain strong relationships with our educators

This is not an exhaustive list, and the job holder may be asked to complete additional tasks by their line manager or members of senior management.
