The Role
We’re looking for an Exam Manager for a period of 9 months’ maternity cover. We are looking for expertise in project management, copyediting and proofreading. Full support and training will be given for all other aspects of exam management.
In this role, you’ll take responsibility for managing all aspects of our core qualification, the Investment Management Certificate.
The Person
As an effective communicator, you will engage with a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally, including a range of subject matter experts and third-party contractors.
Your strong organisational skills will allow you to manage all aspects of the ongoing development of the Investment Management Certificate examinations and Official Training Manuals according to agreed processes and timelines.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesThe core objective of this role is to manage all aspects relating to the yearly updating and delivery of the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) qualification.
Key Activities:
· Manage and coordinate the development and delivery of the IMC
· Manage and coordinate IMC Panel activities and act as the central point of contact for Panel members
· Work closely with IMC Panel Chair to set Panel meeting agendas and ensure the successful management of meetings
· Work closely with IMC Panel Chair to identify any skills gaps in IMC Panel composition and recruit and induct new IMC Panel members to fill such gaps
· Take minutes from the IMC Panel meetings and follow up on actions
· Monitor performance of examinations; volumes of enrolments, sittings and lapses via IMC pipeline monitoring.
· Manage and coordinate the activities of Academic Advisers, including communication and agreement of topic areas for question development
· Manage the IMC question bank and those who work with it, ensuring security is maintained at all times
· Prepare questions for IMC Panel review
· Collate Panel feedback on new questions and exams
· Work with psychometricians throughout exam form development and undertake form review, proofing each form and ensuring the form displays correctly in Navigator system
· Score-test IMC examinations and work with the Qualifications and Operational Oversight Manager / Head of Qualifications to obtain final form sign off
· Manage the development and delivery of the IMC Official Training Manual (OTM) and coordinate the work of the authors, publisher and printer to meet agreed timelines
· Manage and coordinate Academic Advisers in responding to candidate assessment queries
· Manage Sample/Mock Exams and their delivery through the website
· Manage and develop the IMC areas of the CFA UK website
· Support the Head of Qualifications in ensuring that CFA UK’s IMC remains compliant in meeting Ofqual regulations and FCA requirements
· Manage and co-ordinate all CFA UK qualification reminder emails
Outreach and Promotion
· Support outreach and marketing activities as required in relation to the IMC
Committees
· Management of IMC Panel meetings
· Support of the Professional Learning Panel
Essential Skills and Expertise:
· Effective Communicator: Skilled at building relationships both internally and externally. Confident in talking to subject matter expert volunteers and other stakeholders and engaging in subject matter content
· Project management: expertise in all aspects of project management, from planning, managing deadlines and priorities and ensuring quality and standards are met
· Volunteer management: working effectively and collaboratively with volunteer subject matter experts to meet agreed timelines
· Editorial expertise: strong experience of content creation, editing, proofreading, and ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout publications.
Essential Experience
· Minimum 2+ years in editorial management (specifically digital and print publication formats)
Desirable Experience· Managing qualifications (specifically computer-based testing), within an Ofqual regulated awarding organisation
· Managing and enhancing internal processes and procedures
· Psychometric analysis: a solid grasp of key psychometric performance indicators to enable ongoing monitoring of exam performance
