Purpose

We are looking for an innovative and self-starting full-stack engineer to take a key role in the delivery of our digital roadmap. This is a role for someone who enjoys building software and wants to have a direct impact on our internal and external interfaces, support new feature development, and contribute to our tech strategy.

Responsibilities

·       Contribute high quality code across the stack (roughly 80% Front End, 20% Back End), helping to establish processes, carrying out technical scoping and adding to documentation.

·       Work closely with our product manager and feed into design and information architecture, including visualising how designs will be built, flagging challenging areas and offering alternatives as appropriate.

·       Work as part of a small team focussed on measuring, iterating and improving.

·       Provide technical support relating to our digital products to internal stakeholders as needed.

Knowledge & skills

·       A self-starting full stack engineer with several (3+) years’ experience in a full stack role.

·       Comfortable working within a small tech team.

·       A meticulous approach to writing maintainable, fully tested and high-quality code that can be easily understood and extended by others.

·       A growth mindset and a desire to lead on ambitious best-in-class projects. 

·       The ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and hit the ground running. 

·       The ability to explain complex work and ideas to non-specialists. 

·       An interest in architecture and design

Technical experience required

·       React and TypeScript/JavaScript.

·       Node, Next.js, Serverless and Headless CMS (such as Sanity).

·       Making and using APIs, using either REST or GraphQL.

·       Experience with Salesforce is a bonus.

Team

The Full Stack Engineer reports to the Head of Engineering within the Tech team and works closely with the Product Manager.
