Job Description

As the Head of Product Strategy, you will lead the development of product strategies to create value for signatories and further PRIs mission supporting the strategic business objectives with new products, compelling research findings on product efficacy, and product strategy.

You will be the driving force to bring new products, ideas, and skillsets to the growing product development team, strategy, and development at PRI. Your strategic vision will help to propel us towards new heights and deliver impactful products that resonate with the mission, driving innovation and setting new industry standards.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and road map, identifying new product to improve revenue opportunities.

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive product strategy to support PRI strategic priorities .

  • Manage the development of product strategies to create value for signatories and further PRIs mission, working across the organisation to gather market insights and undertaking market assessment to determine and inform new product opportunities (signatory challenges and mission objectives).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Data Analytics, Marketing, RI Ecosystems Development, and Signatory Services including Product Support, to monitor product performance and determine product opportunities.

  • Design, develop and implement a model to inform product development approaches and decisions including go/no-go criteria.

  • Use research and analysis to guide the company’s overall product plans including informing product business case development and decision-taking. Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the RI and ESG landscape, value-chain and trends and use this knowledgebase to inform product positioning and propose and develop pricing strategies as appropriate.

  • Working with a cross -functional team to position products for success considering product pricing, licensing, communications/marketing, and RI and ESG landscape to inform the product roadmap and in consideration of the product lifecycle.

  • Initiate and/or conduct market research, analyse signatory needs, and feedback, and stay up to date with industry trends to identify new product opportunities and enhance existing products.

  • Manage and coach the Product development team, ensuring that they are motivated, engaged, and aligned with PRIs goals and values.

  • Provide regular reporting to the Director Product Portfolio, and Director, Product Development as required including but not limited to providing input to Executive and Board reports, budget management, and strategy.

  • Work closely with Design and UX Researchers to ensure the creation of an exceptional user experience, aligning with signatories needs and expectations.

Person Specification

  • Strong product vision and strategy, with a track record of formulating and driving a focused product vision.

  • Good written communication and verbal presentation skills, including public speaking skills with the ability to give presentations, lead meetings, and communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proven ability to develop product strategies that align with business goals and create value for users. 

  • Well-developed people management skills (including providing feedback & challenge, coaching, and developing individuals) and the ability to build and lead high performing hybrid teams. 

  • Strong knowledge of product strategy/management and the product lifecycle, preferably digital, data, finance, and/or ESG.  

  • Excellent networking, influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong and productive relationships and demonstrate credibility at a senior level as a trusted partner in different circumstances (remote/in-person or internal/external) with a clear understanding of what drives people and how to achieve optimal outcomes.  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and use data to inform product decisions and make recommendations.

Desirable

  • Expertise in business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques focusing on requirements elicitation, user journey mapping, and validation.
