Salary £22,000

Job Description

Pause works with women who have experienced - or are at risk - of repeated pregnancies that result in children being removed from their care. We want to make sure that women who experience or are at risk of the removal of children into care are given the best possible support so that it never happens more than once. You can find out more about our impact at the end of this information pack.

Getting Involved is how we work in partnership with women to make things better in and outside of Pause. This happens by ensuring that women who have experience of the Pause Programme are at the heart of decision-making, and that we work together to learn, collaboratively solve challenges, and grow as an organisation.  Getting Involved is Pause’s term for what is sometimes called ‘participation’ or ‘involvement’. We use Getting Involved to describe any activity where women with experience of the Pause programme are involved in decision-making which influences or shapes the work that Pause does. In practice this looks like: involving women who have worked with Pause in campaigns and influencing, an Advisory Group, projects, consultations and much more!

This role is suitable for someone at the beginning of their career looking to pursue a career in the charity or social sector and who believes in the value of involvement and participation of people with lived experience. The ideal candidate will have values and skills that align with Pause’s ethos. They will be compassionate, enthusiastic, organised, self-aware, and willing to learn. This role does not require any formal qualifications or education, but you will need to be able to speak, read and write in English to carry out the role.
