About the Role
The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) has an unswerving commitment to high quality, evidence-informed teacher education, and our mission is to improve the quality of teacher and leader development across the system. We are currently recruiting an Associate Head of Partnerships to join our South & West campus teams, distributed across the Birmingham and Bristol areas.
This is a hybrid working role with the opportunity to WFH and on campus, the role would be linked to either the Bristol campus, currently situated in Aztec West (BS32 4TD), or the NIoT’s Birmingham campus at Oasis Woodview (B15 2HU). Applicants should live within a commutable distance of either of these campuses.
The Associate Head of Partnerships will be responsible for all partnership activity in the region, including overseeing recruitment across all core programmes (ITE including PGTA, ECF and NPQs). This will include working with existing partners to solidify relationships and ensure these partnerships grow in scope, impact and scale. They will identify and cultivate new partners in line with the region’s needs, supporting onboarding and managing communications. This role will also ensure we maximise the regional potential of any national programmes that the NIoT offers (currently the NLE programme and the Trust Leaders CEO programme) as well as maximising the potential of our research activity.
The successful candidate will be a great networker, communicator and problem-solver who enjoys forming and nurturing partnerships with senior stakeholders. They will line manage our Regional Recruitment Manager and will be a member of the South and West’s senior leadership team; ensuring that we achieve our collective goals as a region.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining relationships with MATs, schools and Teaching School Hubs in the region, including the Founding MAT schools (Oasis and Star).
Identifying schools and MATs that could benefit from working with us and cultivating them as partners.
Building and maintaining effective strategic relationships with key senior and executive stakeholders.
Working closely with the national Partnerships team at the NIoT and managing regional communications to schools, MATs and Teaching School Hubs in the region.
Supporting the account management of Associate Colleges, holding them to the contractual requirements, reviewing participants engagement, satisfaction and progression to enable programme success.
Understanding schools’ needs in order to provide effective support and excellent customer service.
Working with Programme Managers to resolve escalated issues quickly and professionally.
Ensuring all recruitment targets are achieved through either Associate College delivery or through campus delivery.
Line managing the region’s Regional Recruitment Manager to deliver the region’s growth strategy.
Leading the trainee placement strategy for ITE and ensuring all the trainees we recruit have suitable ITE placements.
Identifying opportunities for strategic partnerships and maximising the unique opportunities that working with the NIoT provides schools e.g. research activity involvement in important areas like the use of AI.
Offering a solutions-focused approach to the challenges our stakeholders face, ensuring their voice is heard within the organisation.
Understanding your Safeguarding obligations and the protection of children and young people.

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £51,579 - £54,471 per annum + benefits
Start Date: TBC
