Supply Chain Management (SCM) Co-op Student 

8 month term

Opportunity details are as follows: 

Term length: 8 months 

Term start:  January 2024 

Job location:  Calgary, Alberta 

Shift schedule:  5 days/week (Monday – Friday), 8 hours/day 

Hybrid Option: Yes 

Safety sensitive position:  No 

 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Exposure to all aspects of supply chain management in a mid-sized company including sourcing, category management, materials, market intelligence, contractor administration, data analysis, and governance.  

  • Provide support to the SCM team at all phases of the sourcing cycle, including Request for Proposals (RFP)/Request for Quotations (RFQ), proposal evaluations, contract formation, contractor onboarding, and administration.   

  • Provide administrative support for the SCM team, ensuring appropriate control systems and administrative procedures are followed according to the approved acquisition cycle. 

  • Support the SCM team in time-intensive activities like data analysis, verification, and process/system improvement and implementation. 

  • Identify cost savings opportunities as suggested by the SCM team initiatives. 

  • Assist in developing sustainable supply chain strategies through market research, business unit needs analysis, risk, and commercial analysis. 

What You Bring to The Role: 

  • Currently enrolled in your 2nd or 3rd year of an undergraduate degree with a focus in Supply Chain Management/Operations Management. Other relevant degrees will be considered. 

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 

  • Excellent communicator. 

  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic. 

  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment and effectively track and manage priorities. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. 

  • The following are considered assets: 

    • Experience with Maximo 

    • Experience with data models / PowerBI 

    • Experience with a Contract Management system 

    • Familiarity with the fundamentals of buying, contract development/formation, and contract administration
