The Opportunity  

We have an opening for a Community Investment Advisor in our Government and Stakeholder Relations team and can be located in either Calgary, Alberta or Denver, Colorado. This position will report to the Government and Stakeholder Relations Manager and will support activities related to corporate partnerships, donations, sponsorship, workforce volunteerism, and event management as directed. This role will also involve administrative activities related to corporate stakeholder/community budgeting and reporting, financial transactions, and effective cost stewardship. The successful candidate will be a strong performer in a collaborative and supportive team-work environment and be comfortable with a busy workload in a small, but mighty team! Community Investment, ESG and Stakeholder Communications experience would be an asset. 

What You Will Do  

  • Contribute to Enerplus’ stakeholder and community investment strategy and its tactical execution to drive shared value for Enerplus and for our operating communities across Canada and the United States 

  • Work with the stakeholder relations manager to maintain and build external stakeholder relationships including CI partners, peer networks and other stakeholder groups 

  • Manage Enerplus’ employee Match it Up and volunteer program 

  • Working in coordination with your leader, for field site community relations leads and providing regular guidance and support for strategy and execution 

  • Provide advisory support to corporate community initiatives  

  • Complete monthly and quarterly budget and administrative tasks associated with CI responsibilities and transactions in Enerplus' giving platform (Smartsheets/other) 

  • Support corporate budget management and reporting, and work to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and prioritize high-value activities 

  • Collaborate with the Enerplus communications team to provide key stakeholder messaging, profile stakeholder/community investments and assist in story sharing with key audiences (internal/external)  

  • Research and stay current on new and emerging community investment trends (e.g. employee engagement, volunteerism, performance measurement, etc.) 

The Requirements  

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in communications, public/government relations, or a related field  

  • Five to eight years of related work experience 

  • Able to travel between Canada and the United States

  • Creativity, bringing recommendations forward with direct ties to community/stakeholder activities and corporate priorities 

  • Proactive and self-initiating work style, while demonstrating sound judgment and skill working in a team-focused group 

  • Solution oriented approach with ability to see opportunities for collaboration with extended team members to increase efficiencies and maximize opportunities 

  • Strong interest and passion for stakeholder and community investment work and an understanding of its business value
