Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week. Other flexible arrangements will be considered.  

Disclosure Level: Basic. This role involves no direct or indirect work with children

ABOUT THE TEAM 

The Soccer Aid Team is a project team that brings together key specialisms from across the organisation to deliver Soccer Aid for UNICEF. The multi-functional team works with departments across UNICEF UK and stakeholders at ITV, Initial and Soccer Aid Productions* to deliver UNICEF UK’s biggest public fundraising campaign to help give children the best possible start in life. 

*UNICEF UK has partnered with Triple S Sports and Entertainment Group to create Soccer Aid Productions Ltd (SAP Ltd) to deliver the commercial elements of the campaign.  

ABOUT SOCCER AID FOR UNICEF 

Soccer Aid for UNICEF brings together two teams of celebrities and football legends from England and the World XI FC for the biggest celebrity football match in the calendar, broadcast live on ITV. The event started in 2006 taking place every two years and since 2018 has taken place annually. Since its inception, Soccer Aid has raised more than £90million for UNICEF UK, helping to protect the right to play for every child worldwide. 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Senior Project Manager will work closely with teams across UNICEF UK, ITV, Initial and Soccer Aid Productions to oversee the delivery of all on-air TV fundraising. This includes setting up our donation platforms, introducing new and innovative ways to donate and ensuring integration with UNICEF UK systems and processes.  

The role requires strong attention to detail and excellent project management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is a collaborative role working with multiple colleagues and stakeholders to execute all on-air TV fundraising, delivering efficient, compliant and excellent user journeys which maximise donations and income for children.  

 

WHAT WE WILL EXPECT YOU TO ACHIEVE 

  • Lead the Interactive workstream working in collaboration with ITV Commercial and donation platform providers. This includes overseeing the delivery of all on-air fundraising opportunities, including the set up and delivery of three donation platforms (SMS, online and telephone) and working with UNICEF UK’s Information workstream to ensure activity is compliant and donor journeys are best in class.  

 

  • UNICEF UK lead on delivery of Soccer Aid Week activations, working with multiple TV production companies and ITV to integrate fundraising and cause messaging, brief participating talent and to maximise fundraising opportunities on ITV.  

 

  • Lead the project management of the appeal film workstream to support the planning and delivery of cause led films, working closely with our production company and UNICEF UK colleagues. This includes management of the appeal film sign off process and close collaboration with our International Programmes team.   

 

  • Identification and generation of new income opportunities to primarily feature on-air, which generate donations from new audiences, such as prize led incentivised giving.  

 

  • Lead planning and delivery of specified Soccer Aid for UNICEF match week activities, including players training week, in stadium activations and staff briefings.  

 

  • Lead the collation and interpretation of campaign insights post-event, identifying learnings and recommendations for future years. 

 

  • Six-figure budget management including reforecasting, monitoring and cost saving for multiple workstreams of the campaign and timely processing of invoices.  

 

  • Support in delivering the UNICEF UK’s Soccer Aid strategy; delivering more income and reach, while also building brand awareness.  

 

  • Senior project management of the Soccer Aid for UNICEF campaign.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE  

  • Experience of or demonstrable understanding of large-scale fundraising campaigns  

  • Formal experience of best practice project management 

  • Strong financial management, planning and monitoring skills 

  • Experience of managing donation giving channels (e.g. online or SMS platforms).
