The Signatory Relations team is a fast growing team of individuals based in more than 15 countries around the globe The Continental European team is a very dynamic team of 8 managing PRI relationships with investors and stakeholders in eleven countries.  The French PRI team is based in Paris. 

Job description  

The Signatory Relations Manager France (France SR) will be working towards enhancing Responsible Investment awareness and providing French investors with the tools to implement it in their investment process.  

The role involves contributing to PRI’s investors recruitment and signatory coverage. In addition, the France SR will provide support to the Director of Continental Europe on the Francophone Programme and when needed to cover parental leaves in other regions.   

There will be scope for regular domestic and occasional international travel primarily for signatory meetings, industry events and internal meetings.  

The successful candidate will report to the Head of France based in Paris and work closely with the other France Signatory Relations Manager and other PRI colleagues in the UK and worldwide. 

Core Responsibilities:  

  • Awareness: Raising awareness on responsible investment among local asset owners, investment managers, service providers and other PRI stakeholders. 

  • Signatory relationships: developing engagement with French investors through new signatory on-boarding, signatory review meetings, reporting and assessment sessions, ad-hoc support and PRI supported events.  

  • Investors outreach: targeting for recruitment to the PRI public and corporate pension plans, insurers, sovereign wealth funds, endowments/foundations, as well as key asset managers and service providers.   

  • Stakeholders relationships: Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in the country to support the development of responsible investment locally. 

  • Close collaboration with PRI content, reporting and policy teams to : 

  • deliver mutually agreed solutions supporting PRI’s agenda; 

  • foster the implementation of PRI strategic projects by French signatories; 

  • enhance the understanding of key French market issues and players amongst PRI colleagues. 

  • Collaboration with the other Relationship Managers in France and in Continental Europe. 

  • Events: Represent PRI at relevant events to help raise the organisation’s profile in the country. 

  • Contribute to the PRI’s Francophone Programme. 

  • Support the Continental Europe director and team when needed, including during parental leaves.

Technical Competencies & Experience: 

  • Demonstrable experience in responsible investment (ideally over 5 years). 

    Strong interest in sustainability, environmental, social and governance issues, and their overall impact on long term investment outcomes and society. 

    Good understanding of investment practices in public and/or private markets. 

    A significant experience in the asset management and/or financial sector. 

    Business development skills, preferably within the financial sector, or within other service-based industries, such as management consulting. 

    Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills. 

    Extensive network in Responsible Investment and/or ESG related fields 

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English. 

    Demonstrable experience in public speaking, giving presentations and leading meetings with investment executives at all levels. 

    Good team player, with a collaborative and consultative approach to working with others, a strong partnership ethos and an experience working internationally. 

    Master’s degree in one or more relevant fields and/or a recognised investment qualification preferable. 

    Ability to work in a multicultural and challenging environment. 

    At least intermediate knowledge of relevant IT (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and/or Salesforce).   

    As this is a global role, international travel may be required.
