Overview of the role and responsibilities

The HR & Resourcing Coordinator is an exciting and busy role, which places you at the heart of the people enabling agenda. Your HR operational knowledge and expertise will ensure that all of the elements of the HR team can work effectively and collaboratively.

 You will be working in a changing world meaning you will need to constantly strive to improve the service offer.

 Undertaking a breadth of routine HR administrative and service delivery tasks involving the end to end employee life cycle, including administration of recruitment and selection, on-boarding new employees, and payroll related activity you will:

 ·       Ensure our HR systems (currently iTrent and Clear Review) are accurate and up to date in order provide accurate workforce metrics reports, to support the work of the HRBPs and the wider organisation.

·       Co-ordinate and resolve pension related queries, escalating complex ones to the HR & Resourcing Manager

·       Manage the People team inboxes, handle queries and respond in a focussed and prioritised manner making sure to escalate as appropriate.

·       Track spend of budgets e.g. recruitment advertising, keeping the HR & Resourcing Manager informed and updated, making sure PO’s are raised in a timely fashion.

·       Manage and process staff changes for joiners, movers and leavers, working with external and third party suppliers to deliver a smooth candidate experience.

·       Take a continuous improvement approach to all your work, making suggestions to ensure an effective end user service, and impact.

·       Ensuring a seamless delivery of quality HR services, including recruitment and selection, on-boarding, first and second line HR queries, pensions, exits and records management.

Overview of the team

The People Team is a key enabler that connects all the processes together, ensuring delivery against the Commissions’ core purpose, and making sure that we are enabled to deliver better outcomes for people across the UK.

 We are split into three small teams; HR Service Delivery where this role sits; HR Business Partnering and Organisational Development.

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Key to your success will be your experience of working within a HR environment, ideally within central government or the wider public sector, effective stakeholder relations, a flexible and an adaptable working style.

You will need to be resilient, well organised, and be professional and confident with the ability to manage a busy workload with conflicting priorities. As a representative of the People team, excellent communications skills and the ability to remain calm and reliable under pressure and challenge are also essential. Knowledge, Skills and Experience required include:


·       A good understanding of the interdependencies between the different areas within the HR profession

·       Ability to remain calm and reliable under pressure and ensure attention to detail and accuracy

·       Excellent organisational and administrative skills with the ability to be proactive in planning and administration of your work, ensuring flexibility to respond to mixed priorities and deadlines.

·       An ability to engage and build effective relationships with a range of internal stakeholders, ensuring a strong customer focus

·       Experience of advising on the end to end employee life cycle, recruitment and workforce policies e.g. parental leave, annual leave, special leave etc.

·       Experience of using a range of IT systems including, HR software/MIS, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint including experience of producing basic workforce metric reports

·       Experience of working independently within an HR environment, ideally within central government or the wider public sector, delivering effective HR administration and service delivery


·       Knowledge of Civil Service Recruitment principles

·       Knowledge of payroll processes

·       Experience of pension administration for Civil Service Pensions scheme

·       Experience of using iTrent HR systems
