Job Description

We are seeking an outstanding candidate to appoint to a new, innovative role that will drive a new approach to tackling racial inequality within the Liverpool City Region (LCR).

The successful candidate will lead the development of the Liverpool City Region Race Equality Hub, that will be set the challenging and ambitious task of closing employment gaps between Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic residents of the LCR and their white counterparts.

The postholder will build effective and tangible relationships between the range of minority ethnic communities across LCR in order to understand the barriers to developing effective pathways into employment and business opportunities.

The postholder will build effective relationships with employers in order to lead and develop the Hub in its aim of diversifying the employment and business eco-system across public, private and third sector businesses and organisations across the LCR.

This role will be key in ensuring the Hub develops a regional, national and international reputation for delivering high-quality support and activity for race equality and that develops the previously under-utilised potential of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities within the city region to obtain and develop employment, leadership and business opportunities.

The postholder will be responsible for developing and driving the organisation’s strategic vision, overseeing its operational development, delivery of its key functions and developing effective partnerships with a range of key strategic partners and stakeholders in order to support and further the work of the Hub.

Recruiting and leading a committed, professional and high-performing team of practitioners, the postholder will foster and support an anti-racist and inclusive organisational culture and mirror positive behaviour and action.
