Job Description

Leading climate solutions charity, Ashden, is looking for a Treasurer to join our board of trustees – is this you?

Ashden’s vision is of a world where everyone enjoys access to clean energy. Where people and nature thrive. A world accelerating towards a fairer, greener future.

Ashden’s mission is to accelerate the work of climate innovators creating a fairer, greener zero carbon world; and to secure the policy, finance and market conditions needed for these innovators and others like them to achieve transformative scale.

We are inviting candidates who share that vision and believe in our mission to put themselves forward for the vitally important role of Treasurer at Ashden. As well as sharing the general responsibilities of all our trustees, you will chair the Finance and Operations Committee (a sub-committee of the board of trustees with delegated responsibilities) and report to the board on its decisions and recommendations. You will also act as the first point of contact between the board and the executive team on financial, risk, legal compliance, budget and audit matters.

This is a fabulous opportunity to join Ashden’s high performing and vibrant board of trustees as we seek to grow our impact at a critical time in the climate emergency.

We seek candidates with suitable backgrounds in finance, accounting or business, as laid out in the person specification. This is an unremunerated role, and the term of trusteeship is three years, renewable a maximum of three times.

You can view the person specification here.

First interviews will take place online on Thursday 24 October and second interviews will take place in-person on Tuesday 29 October at our office in Victoria. We will reimburse off-peak travel expenses.
