Job Description

We’re looking for an innovative and collegiate Head of Income Generation who can help grow and diversify our income, in turn helping us extend our reach and impact.

You will report to the Director of Policy and Development but work across a mobile working team that is based all over the UK, drawing on the team’s local and national intelligence to inform fundraising ambitions.

You’ll also work closely with communications colleagues to both draw on and inform our voice and key messages, and feed into the organisation’s research focus.

We welcome applications from anyone who fulfils the requirements of the role.  You don’t need to have prior experience of the creative or cultural industries, nor do you have to be an expert in the learning and skills environment – we have people with that knowledge who can guide you.  You do need to be a skilled income generator.

 

Key duties

·         Oversee the development of the annual fundraising plan, aiding successful delivery of the company’s wider fundraising strategy

·         Oversee the development and delivery of new streams of income including commissioned projects, sponsorship and corporate income to aid events, campaigns and research work 

·         Aid internal planning, relations, and communications with all staff

·         Work with marketing and communications colleagues to aid the organisation’s external campaigns linked to fundraising

·         Develop a strong awareness of Creative & Cultural Skills’ vision, mission and values

·         Work with the Director of Policy and Development to inform the organisation’s overarching fundraising strategy

·         Write and manage the implementation of the annual fundraising plan

·         Aid the Director of Policy and Development with reporting to funders in line with requirements, ensuring information is suitably collated and filed for use

Oversee the development and delivery of new streams of income including commissioned projects, sponsorship, and corporate income to aid events, campaigns, and research work 

·         Shape a new corporate donor offer for the company, cultivating and building new relationships with corporate donors

·         Prepare clear, well researched and relevant sponsorship packages to aid key company events and advocacy activities and oversee the securing said sponsorship

·         Work with colleagues in the Partnerships & Delivery team to develop, cost and contract for commissioned work with colleges and other clients

·         Keep abreast of best practice approaches in fundraising including Gift Aid regulations and benefits to sponsors and corporate donors

Aid internal planning, relations, and communications with all staff

·         Ensure that all (relevant) staff are consulted on, and kept informed about, the annual fundraising plan and progress against this

·         Ensure that fundraising goals and campaigns are clear and known by staff

·         Work with the Director of Policy and Development and Head of Finance to ensure that raised income is correctly allocated and accounted for as part of annual audits

·         Operate within and promote the organisation’s policies, procedures and values

Work with marketing and communications colleagues to aid the organisation’s external campaigns linked to fundraising

·         Establish and maintain a database of existing and potential funding contacts to whom we can market our work

·         Inform content and messaging of company campaigns and ensure any asks are factored into Communications plans in advance

·         Collate data and evaluation findings to inform funding asks

·         Attend relevant meetings and events to represent Creative & Cultural Skills and its interest

Other requirements:

  • Able to travel within the UK, and to work occasional unsocial hours
