Sustainability Advisor
Fixed Term Contract (Immediate start - until November 2021)
Yorkshire
We are looking for a Sustainability Advisor to support our prestigious projects in the Yorkshire region covering multiple sites.
As a Sustainability professional, you’ll understand the need for sustainable practices to be embedded in everything we do and ensuring that the global and complex issues of sustainability are simplified and made tangible to day to day operations of a construction site. You will also be responsible for supporting our project teams, proactively taking the initiative to build relationships across the whole organisation and positively impacting our commitment for ensuring environmental and sustainability compliance while promoting best practice.
The Role
- Provide advice and assistance to the site teams in relation to all aspects of Sustainability.
- Review and upkeep the environmental documentation in line with the environmental planning requirements/client requirements with full support of site project management team.
- Support the team to ensure all staff are aware of strict site environmental requirements via tool box talks/good verbal communication or other means.
- Support the team to ensure good environmental control of site.
- Collate and review key performance sustainability information, as well as providing monthly and quarterly reports to the client.
- Site inspections and risk assessments to be carried out as necessary.
- Liaise with the Client Stakeholder Manager.
- Liaise regularly with Client Environment Officers.
About you
This role would best suited to someone who is passionate, approachable and practical and who understands the need for sustainable practices to be embedded in everything we do.
- Degree qualified in an environmental or sustainability subject.
- Member of a relevant professional body (ICE, IEMA, CIWM, IOA) preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of live site environmental requirements.
- Experience working on complex projects and managing.
- Experience of stakeholder engagement – advanced communication skills with a diplomatic disposition.
- Demonstrable experience working in the construction industry is an advantage but not essential, other industries could include oil & gas/mining.
