Job Description
Thank you for your interest in working for LandAid.
We are the property industry’s charity working to end youth homelessness in the UK. We bring remarkable businesses and individuals from across the property industry together to support charities delivering life-changing services for young people who are or have been homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness in the future. Through a unique network of corporate partners, we invest funding and expertise where we can achieve lasting impact.
We’re currently looking for an ambitious & driven individual to help take LandAid’s Events to the next level. Someone who is truly passionate about enabling LandAid to achieve its mission and end youth homelessness. We are looking for demonstrable experience and success in both events & fundraising. LandAid is looking to develop and embellish the successful candidate’s knowledge and skills further.
This role will play a vital part in supporting the events and fundraising team to meet and exceed income targets. This will be possible through increased engagement with the property industry, enhancing current events and introducing new events into our portfolio. This role will support & expertly project manage several physical fundraising events each year as well as lead on our challenge events portfolio. You’ll be key to evaluating, improving and growing our current events portfolio. This includes challenge events and regional events. We are constantly looking for new ways to evolve and test our portfolio, and the Senior Events Officer will play a pivotal role in helping to test and shape the future of LandAid Events.
With more support behind us than ever before, and with the momentum of the most successful fundraising year in our charity’s history – this presents a unique opportunity to bring the real estate industry together to create a social movement behind our mission to end youth homelessness, making it an incredibly exciting time to join our ambitious and growing organisation.
We recommend applicants spend some time looking at our website, events and social media content and do get in contact if you require any further information. If you would like an informal chat before applying, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Role Summary & Purpose
This vital role will help to test, evaluate and evolve LandAid’s Events Portfolio, driving us to meet and exceed income targets. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to project managing key events in our current portfolio and use their creativity to help grow and improve our offer.
Considering current giving trends, the successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and advising on improvements to our current events portfolio, both through the introduction of new events, and innovations to existing ones. You’ll be pivotal in improving the way we fundraise via our own events and those organised on behalf of LandAid by our partners, using your expertise to inspire, motivate and advise our corporate supporters.
This role will directly project manage at least one of LandAid’s flagship Events.
You will also have the opportunity to act as an event manager for one of the local editions of the LandAid SleepOut, which last year raised over £750,000 towards our mission to end youth homelessness.
You will have a ‘can do’ attitude and ensure that our partners, sponsors and events participants are engaged, appreciated and supported in their efforts to fundraise for LandAid. Our events would not be possible without our supporters and sponsors, and we want to ensure that we build long-term partnerships to enable us to build on success of our events year on year.
Our events are essential to LandAid’s ambition to create a social movement behind our mission to end youth homelessness – engaging the property industry in our work and connecting fundraisers to our cause. This role will work with the wider LandAid Team to ensure all our events participants know the impact they have made on the lives of young people facing homelessness.
Your principal responsibilities are to:
Work alongside the team to achieve our events fundraising targets
Oversee and project manage selected mass participation, challenge and digital events, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the events’ success.
Work with the team and supporters to continually improve customer and volunteer experience at our events
Liaise with the wider LandAid Team to ensure that LandAid Events are a huge success – working closely across all departments, fostering collaboration and inspiring colleagues to be part of our events.
Using a variety of tools and techniques, both on and offline, to skilfully steward event participants & donors ensuring they raise as much money as possible whilst being brought closer to LandAid’s mission and purpose - helping us to end youth homelessness in the UK.
Manage content and participants on all fundraising event platforms including Sport for Charity and JustGiving.
Advise on the development of LandAid’s events portfolio - bringing new ideas and suggestions for consideration.
Effectively maintain event budgets where required, ensuring that income targets are met, and expenditure is controlled in line with budget.
Recruit and coordinate volunteers for events, ensuring all are properly briefed prior to the event, and encouraged to become even more involved in our work. You will also manage and coordinate the LandAid team attendance at events.
Ensure that our CRM, Salesforce, is kept updated to enable the promotion and reporting of our events. This will involve managing guestlists for events, post-event follow-up with attendees and updating the database as relevant.
Evaluate our events – devising new ways to encourage and incentivise attendee feedback. Identify potential partners from event attendees and devise approach alongside the Partnerships Team to ramp up engagement.
Help with logistics for events put on by our corporate partners to support LandAid – these may take place in various locations.
Providing an exceptional service to those who wish to run their own events to raise funds for the charity, working closely with all stakeholders to achieve agreed goals.
