About the role
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will deliver a high standard of client focussed care, supporting children aged 0-19 years and adults as required. You will be expected to assess, diagnose plan, and deliver evidence based therapy intervention for clients with a range of speech, language and communication needs.
A large proportion of your work will be in educational settings, it will involve working with children individually and in groups, as well as offering training, support and strategies to school staff and parents.
You will be expected to work collaboratively with the Community Health Team, Primary Care and Education professionals. Furthermore, you will be involved with Early Help Assessments and attend multi-agency meetings and SLT team development days.
About the team
You will be a member of the SSAFA Community Health Team based in Akrotiri, working alongside Midwives, Health Visitors, School Nurses, Community Children’s Nurses, CAMHS, Dietitian, Consultant Community Paediatrician and Community Paediatric Psychiatrist. You will be expected to work in collaboration with a Speech and Language Therapist based in another area of Cyprus and a SLT Assistant. The SSAFA Community Health Team work collaboratively with Primary care, Education, Social Care and Welfare agencies.
About you
To carry out this role successfully you will be a Registered Speech and Language Therapist. You will be able to manage and prioritise a caseload effectively, have good time management skills, excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and be committed to personal and professional development.
All SSAFA staff are required to be committed to safeguarding children and adults and to adhere to child protection policies and guidelines in conjunction with Command Local Safeguarding Children’s Board procedures.
A valid driving license and the ability to drive a manual car is essential.
