Job Description  

Amplifying signatory impact by supporting and leading collaborative initiatives is one of four key focus areas of the PRI’s proposed new strategy and is covered by the PRI’s fifth principle – “We will work together to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the Principles”.

The PRI’s Investor Initiatives and Collaboration team (including stewardship initiatives), works to support signatories in this endeavor. This role is within the Investor Initiatives Portfolio sub-team, which aims to support signatories by providing improved access to platforms and information that enhance the visibility and coordination of investors’ collaboration efforts and opportunities. We are expanding the exisiting team and the successful candidate will work closely with one other team member also focused on expanding usage of the PRI Collaboration Platform.

This role is an exciting opportunity to work at the centre of PRI’s collaboration-related activities, in particular taking a leading role in overseeing the day-to-day management and use of The PRI Collaboration Platform – an online tool through which users can participate in discussions and initiatives.  

The role will also play a key role supporting signatories through the annual Northern Hemisphere proxy / AGM season, including overseeing the PRI Resolution Database. This is an online database that collates shareholder resolutions, management-filed proposals and director elections and re-elections.

In addition to working alongside the other Stewardship Specialist on the team, the successful candidate will work closely with the Collaboration Platform Technical Manager and the PRI Data and Analytics team. The role will also involve working closely with a wide range of PRI signatories, internal teams and external partners. It will also involve contributing to shaping the future development of the Platform and other tools, along with the PRI’s Product Development Team.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Investor Initiatives Portfolio.

Core Responsibilities:

Day to day running of the Collaboration Platform, including: 

  • Ensure content on the Platform is current and comprehensive, engaging with signatories where relevant, and proactively sourcing relevant content for possible inclusion. 

  • Provide guidance to staff and signatories on usage of the Platform and ensure usage complies with the Terms of Use, including reviewing and approving new collaborations.

  • Produce newsletters and marketing materials with the Product Communications team. Provide regular reporting and analysis as required.

  • Work closely with the Collaboration Platform Technical Manager to gather user feedback on platform functionality and user experience, propose feature updates and support on User Acceptance Testing for new features.

Delivery of Resolution Database and signatory support through the annual proxy/AGM season, including:  

  • Coordinate signatory-facing communications (e.g. resolution alerts, podcasts, webinars, events) and respond to signatory queries as needed.

  • Ensure comprehensive population of the PRI Resolution Database and support on stakeholder outreach, proactively outreaching to signatories through the annual northern hemisphere AGM season (March to June) as well as other periods where there is a high concentration of AGMs. 

  • Monitor and analyse trends to inform PRI’s communications and signatory facing messaging. Disseminate relevant information internally, for example via dashboards.

Person Specification

  • Demonstrable passion for responsible investment and experience working in responsible investment, sustainability, finance or an equivalent field. Strong understanding of, or experience in, stewardship and proxy voting.

  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills. Proactively identifies issues and risks and solves problems in a creative, structured and rigorous way with a view to implementing improvements.

  • Good organisational and project management skills, with experience in delivering changes successfully, including working with others that may not be your direct reports.

  • Strong analytical skills, including monitoring, analysing and communicating trends and KPIs.

  • Excellent written communication and verbal presentation skills. Strong ability to adapt communication style to different audiences, including large groups.

  • A collaborative and consultative approach to working with others & committed to fostering an inclusive environment.

  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills and experience of building strong and productive relationships with different stakeholders at all levels.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to developing others and a growth mindset, actively pursuing continuous profession and personal development

  • IT/Digital skills (including Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) systems).

  • Language skills, other than fluent English, are an advantage.
