Job Description

We are the property industry’s charity working to end youth homelessness in the UK. We bring remarkable businesses and individuals from across the property industry together to support charities delivering life-changing services for young people who are or have been homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness in the future. Through a unique network of corporate partners, we invest funding and expertise where we can achieve lasting impact.

We’re currently looking for an ambitious & driven individual to take LandAid’s Events to the next level. We are looking for demonstrable experience and success in both events & fundraising. LandAid is looking to develop and embellish the successful candidate’s knowledge and skills further.

This role will play a vital part in supporting the events and fundraising team to meet and exceed income targets. This will be possible through increased engagement with the property industry, enhancing current events and introducing new events into our portfolio. This role will lead & expertly project manage several physical fundraising events each year. You’ll be key to evaluating, improving and growing our current events portfolio. One such event is the LandAid 10K, which engages over 700 participants from the property industry each year – this event is now in its 25th year, and there is an opportunity to evolve the format somewhat to engage a wider audience in the challenge. We are constantly looking for new ways to evolve and test our portfolio, and the Senior Events Officer will play a pivotal role in helping to test and shape the future of LandAid Events.

Your principal responsibilities are to:

1.           Oversee and project manage selected mass participation and digital – including LandAid’s flagship events: our SleepOut and 10K run. Including liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the events’ success.

2.           Liaise with the wider LandAid Team to garner support to ensure that LandAid Events are a huge success – working closely across all departments, fostering collaboration and inspiring colleagues to support our events.

3.           Using a variety of tools and techniques, both on and offline, to skillfully steward event participants & donors ensuring they raise as much money as possible whilst being brought closer to LandAid’s mission and purpose - helping us to end youth homelessness in the UK.

4.           Lead the Fundraising Workstream of our Ambassador Programme – inspiring the future leaders of the property industry to support LandAid’s mission by providing support and guidance to devise exclusive Ambassador fundraising activity and events.

5.           Work with the National Development team, to support with the delivery of Regional Events. Ensuring they maintain LandAid’s high quality events & maximise fundraising through effective stewardship of participants.

6.           Manage content and participants on fundraising platforms including Funraisin' and JustGiving.

7.           Advise on the development of LandAid’s events portfolio - bringing new ideas and suggestions for consideration.

8.           Effectively maintain event budgets where required, ensuring that income targets are met, and expenditure is controlled in line with budget.

9.           Recruit and coordinate volunteers for events, ensuring all are properly briefed prior to the event, and encouraged to become even more involved in our work. You will also manage and coordinate the LandAid team attendance at events.

10.        Ensure that our CRM, Salesforce, is kept updated to support the promotion and reporting of our events. This will involve managing guestlists for events, post-event follow-up with attendees and updating the database as relevant.

11.        Evaluate our events – devising new ways to encourage and incentivise attendee feedback. Identify potential partners from event attendees and devise approach alongside the Partnerships Team to ramp up engagement.

12.        Support with logistical support for events put on by our corporate partners to support LandAid – these may take place in various locations.

13.        Providing exceptional support and guidance to those who wish to run their own events to raise funds for the charity, working closely with all stakeholders to achieve agreed goals.
