Job Description
Main Purpose
Work with the wider Engagement Team to film, produce and edit short and long form videos, to increase engagement with stakeholders including students, members and fans, to raise BUCS’ profile and drive revenue.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Short Form Videography
Capture video footage at BUCS sport and non-sport events for social-first content for platforms including Instagram and Tiktok.
Produce in-the-moment (quick turnaround) short form social-first video at sport events and fixtures.
Jump on trends to engage GenZ audience, pairing videos with trending sounds for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
2. Long Form Videography
Film interviews with athletes, coaches, members and fans at both sport and non-sport events.
Capture video footage at sport and non-sport events, such as BUCS Big Wednesday, Conference and FA Women’s Leadership Programme.
Edit video footage to produce highlights packages and montages for different platforms, e.g., end of season video and football member services delivery
3. Other
Provide high quality and engaging graphic design assets to be used across digital channels.
Create infographics to evidence the impact of our work to stakeholders, such as The FA.
Help manage the livestream of BUCS fixtures and events, and work with the wider Engagement Team to deliver our social and livestream content strategy for in-person events e.g., BUCS Nationals, BUCS Big Wednesday.
Manage and develop relationships with BUCS staff.
Undertake duties as can be reasonably expected to ensure the smooth running of BUCS. This role may involve weekend and evening work and overnight stays at BUCS events.

We’re looking for applicants who have strong content creation skills, who are able to bring sport to life in a visual way to our different audiences. Creativity is a big part of this role - be it creating highlights videos from sport and non-sport events, making TikTok content, or coming up with ideas for livestreams at fixtures.
Essential skills and experience
Experience of creating and editing social-first video
Understanding of the nuances of each social media platform
Knowledge of the Adobe design suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Skilled at video editing (Premiere Pro/Final Cut Pro X)
Experience creating video and photography content at live events
Ability to generate creative ideas for student-facing social content – TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts
Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders
Desirable skills and experience
Knowledge of higher education sport
Experience of managing concurrent projects
Knowledge of multiple different sports
Practical experience of Adobe After Effects
Experience with live stream / broadcast
