Joined Up Co-Designers Application 2024

Joined Up Co-Designers will be part of a group of 8 young people aged 16-25 (based in the UK) who, with their ideas and feedback, will help UK Youth steer the conversation on the wider design of Joined Up.

We are looking for enthusiastic young people who have engaged with professionals in the health, education, and justice system and are willing to share their lived experiences and ideas with others. Your commitment and passion towards shaping a better future for young people will be rolled out on a local and national level across all sectors.

You can find the recruitment pack with more information here.

About UK Youth

We are a charity that exists to make sure all young people have what they need to do well in their lives, take part in opportunities, and be active members of society. We do this by working with lots of different people (including young people) and organisations to make sure good youth work is available to all young people.

What’s the Joined Up Institute?

There’s a lot going on in the world that is affecting young people’s mental health, physical safety, and access to employment, among other things. The ways young people are engaged and supported don’t work as well as they could.

We believe that young people get the best support when everyone works together to help tackle challenges.

The Joined Up Institute is going to create opportunities and events that bring young people and professionals together from across different sectors (like education, health, youth work, social care etc.) to find new, better ways of working with and supporting young people.

How will these working sessions work?

We need to design events, activities and ideas that will help professionals think differently about how they work with young people. It’s important that this work is deeply informed by young people’s lived experience.

You will be helping us in these sessions by reviewing current research and sharing your views, experiences and representing the wider views of your peers.

The first session will be held on Thursday 21st March 2024 from 10:00 to 4:00pm.

Following online sessions will be scheduled after 5pm while in person meetings can be scheduled during the weekend.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to express their preferred day of the week for in-person meetings and we will accommodate the most preferred choice.

Two optional drop–in sessions will be scheduled for successful applicants to ask questions and discuss logistics. You can join either on Wednesday, 6th March at 2-3pm, or Thursday 7th March at 6-7pm.

How to Apply

Applications close on Wednesday, 28th February 2023 at 12:00 pm and successful candidates will be notified on the w/c 4th March.

You will not be required to provide a CV or interview for this role.
