Job Description

At Unreasonable, we believe entrepreneurial-led businesses building rapidly scalable solutions are the greatest untapped resource for solving the most significant social and environmental challenges of our time. Every day, our team strives to give the entrepreneurs we work with an unfair advantage to succeed. We do this by connecting them with our networks of mentors, investors, business leaders, and policymakers that can help them drive impact and scale their businesses faster. Today, the over 200 CEO’s in the Unreasonable Fellowship have raised more than $7.2B in financing, generated more than $5.5B in revenue, and are measurably impacting the lives of more than 730 million individuals in nearly every country and territory worldwide.

We are now searching for an Account Manager to serve as an account lead with partners on strategy, project management, and implementation of initiatives. We’re looking for someone who will be a positive driving force that will lead the charge in elevating Unreasonable’s reputation as a best-in-class partner for years to come. The Account Manager will report to our Director of Account Management (Director) and work closely with the broader team. This is an exciting, multi-faceted role balancing a variety of dynamics, which will require the right individual to design and deliver high-level strategic objectives, process and systems, resourcing plans, reporting, and a finely tuned collaborative approach that ensures we always deliver with excellence. This position will work across US, Asian, and European time-zones and, when travel returns safely, require domestic and international travel several times a year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This individual will serve as the Account Manager and primary point of contact for various initiatives, owning the relationship and delivery of the contract from the time that it is signed.

    • Note: each partner engagement will differ based on contractual obligations, scope of partnership, and existing relationships. Some engagements may shift to virtual or hybrid moving forward once it is safe to gather in person. All initiatives will be assessed at time of planning.

  • Support business development and contract execution as it relates to project scope of work.

  • Retain and strengthen existing partner relationships - developing new opportunities to work together and work towards/support the re-signing of existing agreements

  • Demonstrate stakeholder management skills, with clear and substantive speaking, writing and presentation skills

  • Under the guidance of the Director, lead on overall project management - working across all Unreasonable workstreams - to ensure that initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, determining optimal staffing assignments, and remaining within the contractual obligations

  • Act as an advocate, champion for both the company and the partners, translating needs and wants, understanding and aligning feasible outcomes with allocated resources and assets

  • Lead on reporting for initiatives, working closely with Tech, Portfolio, Community, and Media teams to deliver on the reporting needs as laid out in the contract

  • Support on implementation of initiatives, in limited cases (such as with one-day or smaller gatherings) leading on event execution and possibly facilitation - serving both as back of house support and front of house execution

  • Maintain and promote effective process and information flow between all parties by building org-wide tools and processes to project manage and execute on contract objectives; ensure these tools and processes fulfill the clear communication necessary to identify, align, reiterate, and track progress to deliver with excellence

  • Manage ongoing feedback collection across multiple initiatives

  • Under the guidance of the Director, support strategic consulting services (when needed) for non-initiative type projects that support partnership engagement and execution.

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU ARE...

  • AN ORGANIZATION + PRIORITIZATION GURU // Obsessively organized and gifted at prioritizing to the nth degree - you not only like to make details look superficially clean, your approach to organization and prioritization is also strategic and effective to deliver on what’s most important.

  • A SYSTEMS + PROCESSES THINKER // Confident with building best-in-class systems and processes for project management - but love using them effectively even more.

  • AN EXPERT COMMUNICATOR // A detail-oriented, concise, and effective communicator that knows exactly what, how, when, and who to communicate to internally and externally at every level.

  • PASSIONATE AND FLUENT IN EVENTS // You love the art of bringing people together for a shared experience and intimately understand what it takes to deliver and execute world-class events.

  • A COLLABORATIVE GYSHIDO-SAN // Pathologically collaborative but also thrive on owning, delivering, and GYSHIDO-ing solo.

  • YOU SEE ALL // Experienced in managing whole projects end to end - managing teams across multiple work-streams with ease, grace and empathy.

  • ADAPTABLE // An agile and flexible team player who can adapt to changing circumstances and wear many hats - you’re able to read the room and organically flex into the appropriate role at the drop of a dime.

  • A RELATIONSHIP BUILDER // Remarkable at building deep and real relationships internally and externally at all levels, keenly aware of and sensitive to social and cultural differences, and easily maintain contact with an extensive network

  • A CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVER // Skilled at problem-solving, reading patterns, anticipating customers’ needs, analyzing trends, and positioning opportunities for greater impact and revenue generation - even when faced with adversity, you’re always thinking up new creative solutions and offering real help

  • A VALUES-DRIVEN LEADER // Grounded in the importance of listening, learning, humor, and genuine interest in seeing others shine but are also assertive and able to take charge of a situation when appropriate with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others. As you read about Unreasonable’s core values, you get more and more excited with each value you come across
