Job Description

UK Youth has an excellent development opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic Instructor to join our Outdoor Learning team based at Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Centre.

What is the role

Based on the skills and qualifications you already hold, you will deliver high quality outdoor learning sessions to a wide variety of individuals and groups, providing experiences that will inspire them, connecting your delivery to meet their learning aims and giving them the opportunity to learn and develop.

You will be an active member of the team helping to mentor our apprentices as well as support with maintaining department resources and activity areas and diligently meeting Health & Safety legislation and departmental SOP’s.

Who we are looking for

Hold a valid first aid certificate and at least two of the following professional qualifications:

·         BC Coach Award or minimum BC Paddle Sport Instructor

·         RCI Assessed or a nationally recognised Climbing qualification

·         ERCA Traditional Instructor & ERCA Rescuer

·         A nationally recognised walking/navigation qualification

·         A nationally recognised Mountain Biking qualification

·         Archery GB instructor

·         A recognised environmental qualification

You should also have previous experience of working in an outdoor centre for a minimum of one season and be able to deliver high standards of customer care.  Candidates should also be able to demonstrate a general knowledge of Health and Safety and a basic understanding of safeguarding and data protection within the context of an Outdoor Learning setting

What we can offer you

Salary: £ 21,607

Hours: 37.5 hours a week average

Onsite single room accommodation is also available in a shared lodge at £35pw (optional)
