Job Description

ABOUT US:

At Founders Pledge, our mission is to empower entrepreneurs to do immense good. Since launching in 2015, we’ve raised over $10 billion for the most impactful social causes. We offer the simplest path to impact for successful entrepreneurs, providing end-to-end giving infrastructure, pioneering research, and access to a worldwide network of experts. In other words, we help tech leaders become strategic philanthropists. Our 1800+ members include the people behind industry-leading companies such as Airbnb, UiPath, Dropbox, Skype, Spotify, and Uber.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re now looking for a philanthropic Advisor to join our Advisory team which is part of our Member Experience function, responsible for our members' entire journey once they sign a pledge. Our Advisory team is pivotal in supporting our members in their philanthropy by providing values-based philanthropic advice and recommendations to deploy grants to some of the highest-impact funding opportunities identified by our Research team. You’ll report to our Chief Experience Officer, acting as a true thought-partner to our members in their philanthropic journey, building deep 1-1 connections to help them achieve both their individual philanthropic and our internal goals.

You’ll also play an important role within the Advisory team by:

  • Supporting the Senior and Principal Advisors in their preparation and documentation of meetings and consultations.

  • Maximizing the impact of the team’s work by ensuring our CRM is fit for purpose and contributing to its improvement.

  • Helping make sure the Advisory team and cross-functional processes are smooth and efficient.

In this influential and important role, you’ll grow into a true expert in philanthropic advising and effective giving, with exposure to high-net-worth and high-influence founders and CEOs. You’ll inspire and influence, building deep connections and a deep understanding of our members’ giving motivations.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing relationships with a portfolio of members. When our members are ready to give, you’ll work with them to build their portfolio of high-impact giving. This includes leading consultations and advisory meetings in person, via video conference, or calls in person.

  • Driving advisory project coordination and systems management, ensuring our Salesforce platform is set up to give us the best insight into our member’s progress with Advisory, including data collection, reporting, and coordination needs, such as Salesforce/CRM documentation (pulling reports, tracking OKR progress, and updating advisory documentation).

  • Supporting Senior and Principal Advisors, where required, in preparation for meetings with (U)HNWIs, including collating prep notes, meeting briefs and important insight.

  • Working cross-functionally to triage inbound, internal requests, and referrals for the advisory team and liaise on the impact analytics of the advisory team’s efforts for data compilation and analysis.

  • Supporting and facilitating events to provide an educational experience for our members.

  • Driving the development of advisory communications assets, which the team uses to inspire members to enter the service and stay engaged within their time-bound advisory journey. This might include marketing materials, service delivery tools that advisors use, report writing, and copywriting for high-impact funding opportunity campaigns.

ABOUT YOU:

Firstly, you’ll be incredibly excited about the opportunity to work in such an impactful role, passionate about moving millions of dollars to the highest impact opportunities and managing relationships with those who have the resources to do so.

We’re open to candidates from various professional backgrounds with excellent relationship management skills and experience interacting with HNW individuals in a professional capacity. You might have experience as a Philanthropic Advisor, Major Gifts Manager, Wealth/Asset Manager or Associate, or similar profession, but ultimately, you’ll be able to build trusted relationships and deep connections with our members.

You’ll need to be neutral and aligned with our approach to charity. You’ll appreciate that not all charities are the same. Be passionate about learning more about our research and keen to engage and educate our members.

You’re likely to have:

  • The gravitas and maturity to build deep relationships with our members, leading to their high-impact giving.

  • Experience challenging and influencing stakeholders professionally (as clients or colleagues), and can evidence where this has led to updating and positive change.

  • A service-oriented approach and flexibility in your working style to meet the needs of our members.

  • Experience digesting, communicating, and leveraging complex information and quantitative reports clearly and persuasively (this could be from various backgrounds, e.g., sales, communications, fundraising, and education).

  • Comfort and familiarity with using data and reporting it to draw insights that direct team efforts

  • Experience in philanthropic advising or the nonprofit sector.

  • Business fluency in German and/or French strongly preferred.

In addition to this, occasionally, you’ll need to be flexible with working hours to meet the needs of our members. We’re mindful of work-life balance; flexible hours are still expected to fall within your weekly working hours.

WHY WORK WITH US?

You can find more about the benefits we offer here, but what makes us truly special is our mission and people. We’re a diverse team from charitable and commercial backgrounds who believe amazing things can happen when we tackle problems together. We offer a flat structure and an opportunity to help shape the future of philanthropy.

We ask applicants for this role to be based in London or Europe. If you’re based in London, we’d like you to come to our office in London Bridge 1-2 days a week during onboarding. If based in Europe, this is a remote role. To work remotely you just need a great home wifi connection, and we’ll provide you with everything else that you need!

We usually bring the global team together once per year, and individual teams will meet to work together at least once annually!

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at Founders Pledge. We seek people with different strengths, experiences, and backgrounds who share our drive to understand and solve complex social challenges. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

Finding solutions to the world’s most pressing problems requires different perspectives and unique ways of thinking. We are committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone can do their best work.
