Job Description

The Product Communications Manager will lead the development, execution, and management of communication strategies and messaging for our product offerings, focusing on enabling signatories to use the products effectively and fully experience their value. This role involves creating compelling messaging, coordinating product launches and ensuring consistency across the product portfolio.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with product managers, marketing, and other relevant teams to deliver clear and accurate product information and communications to internal and external stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Product Management in delivering against business plans and budget.

  • Work with Product Managers to develop and execute product communications strategies and support product launches, updates and ongoing promotion, including messaging, positioning, and go-to-market plans for new and in-market products and services.

  • Manage product communications professionals responsible for implementing a product communications plan, ensuring all communications are accurate, compelling and aligned with PRI’s mission and values.

  • Manage and coach direct reports, ensuring they are motivated, engaged, and aligned with PRI’s goals and values, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, including facilitating their learning and development.

  • Collaborate with other communication functions (e.g. Marketing and External Affairs) to ensure product messaging is in line with our wider corporate communications, achieving brand alignment and continuous improvement of external communications and relevant processes.

  • Create and manage product-related content, including messaging about product features and benefits, product user guides, FAQs, in-app messaging and website content.

  • Develop internal product communications to inform all relevant teams about product developments and messaging.

  • Monitor and analyse product communications metrics to continuously improve the effectiveness of our product communications strategies, making data-driven adjustments as needed.

  • Provide regular reporting to the Director of Product Management and the Head of Accountability and Product Communications as required.

Person Specification

  • Well-developed people management skills including providing feedback and challenge, coaching and developing individuals.

  • Understanding of product communications, ideally within the financial services industry and demonstrable ability to develop and execute successful product communications strategies.

  • Strong knowledge of communications, marketing, or another related field.

  • Good project management skills, with experience in delivering complex projects successfully to tight deadlines, managing conflicting priorities and acknowledging interdependencies, including directing others that may not be your direct reports.

  • Excellent verbal presentation skills, including the ability to give presentations, lead meetings, and communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Excellent written communication and editing skills, with the ability to create compelling messaging and content for a variety of audiences.

  • A collaborative and consultative approach to working with others and building productive relationships and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.

  • Strong IT/digital skills, e.g. Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Asana, Marketing Cloud, are desirable.

  • Language skills, other than English, are desirable.

We particularly welcome candidates from under-represented groups, including Black, Asian, and other People of Colour, those with visible or non-visible disabilities, LGBTQ+ candidates and those who are neurodivergent.

The PRI is committed to offering flexibility to our employees, both formal (e.g. part-time work) and informal (e.g. a shift in hours to accommodate caring responsibilities). Please talk to us about how we could make this role flexible for you.

N.B. We reserve the right to close a vacancy before the closing date in the event of an overwhelming response or a change in business priorities.
