The opportunity:
We are seeking an exceptional Investment Director to join our investment team and take a leadership role in how we manage portfolio performance, allocate our capital for impact, and support our teams across venture, property and lending.
This is a broad, high-impact role combining strategic leadership and hands-on delivery. You will collaborate across the organisation and work with senior governance bodies, such as our Investment Committee. You will help to define how our capital can grow the market and deliver strong financial and social outcomes across the UK.

What you will do:
Lead on key parts of managing our portfolio to deliver financial, impact and systems change goals, including:
Working with asset class teams and our Investment Committee to deliver high quality pipeline investments against strategic and tactical asset allocation targets.
Lead the setting and effective delivery of performance management through the investment lifecycle in partnership with other colleagues in the team and wider organisation. This includes delivering insights on the portfolio and asset classes across financial, impact and systems change performance.
Working closely with the team head, oversee the delivery to our governance bodies to enable effective decision making for mission.
Support the delivery of our asset allocation and portfolio risk management:
Working closely with the team head, lead the review and delivery of our Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation. This includes working with asset class teams to review pipeline, new deal archetypes and key portfolio liquidity dependencies with the Middle Office and Finance Teams.
Develop our approach to portfolio risk management and lead consistent application of our risk framework across investments reporting to our governance bodies.
Partnering with deal teams on financial analysis for new and portfolio deals:
Work with deal teams on assessing key financial performance drivers across the investment lifecycle.
As required, supervise or undertake complex financial analysis and financial modelling with support from the Investment Manager – Portfolio.
Oversee the effective delivery of our of end-to-end investment process, enabled through technology and AI:
Lead and coordinate the ongoing improvement of our leading impact investment process.
Oversee the effective delivery throughout the end-to-end lifecycle of the investment, enabled by technology and supported by junior team members.
Support the training of the wider investment team on key areas of our investment approach and tools.
Support team management and contribute to organisation development:
Helping build a world class impact investing approach and team.
Contributing to organisation-wide initiatives that help us deliver on mission such as improving how we work, target particular social issues or work with key partners.
Effectively line manage 3 employees and supervise junior members of the team with a focus on supporting their development and growth.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Demonstrable commitment to improving lives in the UK
Demonstrable experience of investing in private markets, including managing performance
Demonstrable experience of complex, detailed financial analysis and financial modelling
Demonstrable experience of stakeholder management and strong interpersonal skills
Proven project management skills
Experience of managing people and forming collaborative partnerships
Desirable:
Experience of asset allocation and portfolio risk management
Experience of impact investing to consider impact and financial performance holistically
Experience in the financial, charitable or public sectors
Experience working alongside and presenting recommendations to an executive or board within organisations
Experience using technology including AI to enable effective delivery of investment processes and practices.

Location: We are a UK-based business with an office in the Old Street area of London, accessible via a number of public transport links. Colleagues typically spend 40% - 60% of their working hours in the office, and the remainder from home. However, the exact requirements for this role can be discussed at interview.
